What's your favorite quest line in the game?

There are quite a few good ones, but hands down my favorite is the Fordring line ('http://thottbot.com/q5742'). What a great series of quests that are, unfortunately, mired down by 3 very lame prerequisites. Definitely worth doing though if you like to get into quest stories.

Here's the opening text to that line:

================================================== =====

Sit and listen to my story, undead.

>>I am ready to hear your tale, Tirion.

I must apologize for not being entirely truthful with you in regards to
my identity. I had to be certain that you could be trusted - few
people would have selflessly lent assistance to an old and forgotten
hermit.

You have proven yourself as one of those people: A person of integrity and honor.

>>Thank you, Tirion. What of your identity?

My son, Taelan, was only a child when I was found guilty of treason
and banished from the Alliance to live a life in exile. I chose to
remain here so that I could watch over him; to somehow insure that he
would group up an honorable man.

As I had hoped, he took my place as lord of Mardenholde; but in a
cruel twist of fate, joined the ranks of the Scarlet Crusade. He is
now their Highlord, undead.

>>That is terrible.

Indeed. The Scarlet Crusade are an aberration of the Order of the Silver Hand.

You must believe me, undead; Taelan is a good man. He needs
guidance. He needs to remember... remember what it is to be noble and
honorable. I know that in his heart, he knows what he does is wrong.
Will you help him? Will you help him remember?

>>I will, Tirion.

thats a big quest line when it comes to lore and understanding stratholme and thats what i liked about that chain. And at level60 there is some pretty fat loot there.
I like Chasing-AME, the quest is alright there is always good pvp in that cave and the movie, Chasing Amy is a classic.

Alliance's ony key questline personally; it's an effing pain in the ass going into BRD 2 or 3 different times and escorting him out but the ending makes it all worthwhile; meeting up with Windsor at the front of SW, walking with him through the city as all the guards stop & kneel for him, eventually confronting Onyxia herself in SW keep followed by fighting off the elite dragon guards right then and there.

Storywise I'm fond of the MIssing Diplomat questline as well, finding out the diplomat in question is the king of stormwind and chasing the defias all over trying to find him, and they finally added onto the questline with the addition of mudsprocket & more theramore quests, giving a little more closure to it. Having Jaina pop up near the end of the pre-2.3 questline is nice too, even though they're too late to save me from the ass-kicking lol

The Ony key questline is one of my favorites. The BT attunement quest is also very sweet. Basically, elaborate escorts with lore characters = awesome.

I agree with the OP, when I did the escort with Fording my first time, it was a rush. Watching this powerful paladin crush the elies of Hearthglen, while my Orc was in their Scarlet Crusade desguise.

It was the first escort that I had done that had elite mobs, and I wasn't even worried. I had Taelan protecting me. Good times, I might have to revisit WPL again just for the fun of that event.

I'm pretty sure this quest is in reference to the movie Congo. http://imdb.com/title/tt0112715/ The gorilla was named Amy.

I like the one in the draenei starting area, where you get momentary magical abilities from dead gibberish-speaking furbolgs.

I'm serious.

My favourite quest line without doubt is the one involving the Mag'har - from the initial quests in Hellfire Peninsula where you first tell Thrall you have found his people right until the very end of the Nagrand quests with Thrall's triumphant arrival in Garadar. I don't think there's an alliance equivalent...

Transcript of the final cutscene can be found here:

Yeah I always wanted to see Thrall's arrival in Nagrand...I've heard it yell plenty on the 3 70s I've taken through there so far(and will probably hear again when the twins get to nagrand), makes me wish I had the will to level my 60 troll rogue just to see that questline in it's entirety lol

And yes, I've read EVERY quest text I've done, partly because they tell you where what you need is and partly because I'm a Lore Whore ;p I've read every single readable/clickable book scattered throughout hte game too, be they in horde, goblin or alliance towns and even in instances like SM's library...good reads usually

For pure novelty value and surprise, it's the Alliance quest that ends up with some Gnome coming in to land on a small island just off the coast of Azshara. I can't remember the name off-hand, but it's the end of a chain with no significant rewards and is a real blast.

Other than that, it's probably going to be the Marshall Windsor stage of the Onyxia attunement chain. After running Jailbreak <insert-large-number> times, it was initially relief and then absolute hilarity as I watched all the PvP twinks hanging around in Stormwind getting wiped out because they got too close.

I can't say that any of the Outland quests has captured my imagination at all to be honest, although poisoning the Scryer soldiers in Shattrath was worth a laugh :)

The most boxer friendly quest series has to be "Ring of blood", i mean 60g pr toon and 20 of each pot. And just to top it off, they give u an imba weapon :)

Best pay ever for 30-45mins work :P

I just did the quest line where you kill the scarlet crusade in tirisfal, and for some reason killing those pious bastards never gets old.
