Got myself a new bleeding edge machine over the weekend since the power supply of my old decided it was time for a break (I went to the store and bought a new power supply, then I saw this machine and took both home).

Long story short: I'll keep my old machine as my linux dev system, and will give this new one a go as a gaming machine since it came with a windows 7 oem version. Applied for an isboxer trial, but got me a full subscription today anyway. So here I go.

Despite me being an active reader / member of this board, I just came to the conclusion that I have missed out on most isboxer topics. Searching has lead to some confusion as the isboxer slang is quite unique to the software I guess. Not to mention that some threads date back from 2 years ago, so not sure how uptodate they are.

So my question is basically simple: what isboxer threads should I read to ...

a) understand the basic setup of the program
b) run FTL
c) have a basic grasp of the more advance macro'ing system
d) understand possible integration with jamba?
e) read up on anything else that is covered and what is interesting to know. I'm usually not shy to make the most out of any software I use.

Would appreciate any feedback. If a similar thread already exists (couldn't find it), please feel free to remove it.

cheers

The ISBoxer.com wiki page for WoW has a handful of WoW-specific ISBoxer info for reference: http://isboxer.com/wiki/World_of_Warcraft (just realized it doesnt mention any of the Jamba integration on this page though)

A) ISBoxer Quick Start Guide for WoW (http://isboxer.com/wiki/WoW:Quick_Start_Guide)
B) Use the Quick Setup Wizard and then using FTL is explained in part of the Quick Start Guide (Quickly add many broadcasting hotkeys, optionally with auto-assist)
C) the WoW Macro Library (http://isboxer.com/wiki/World_of_Warcraft_Macro_Library) is where you want to do your macro setups, and the advanced macro features are still documented in the WoW Macro Action (http://isboxer.com/wiki/WoW_Macro_Action) page
D) It's mostly just that ISBoxer can set up your Jamba Team for you, and by default from the Quick Setup Wizard includes master-switching when you switch toons. There's a couple other options in the wizard that are simple enough concepts
E) Video Feeds are f'ing awesome. lots of screenshots of different ideas on this thread: http://isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1214, and http://isboxer.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=1222 is super useful for anyone with more than one monitor. In fact, I only used one monitor for multiboxing even on my dual monitor rigs, until now. This is THE reason to have a second monitor for multiboxing!

Always start with the Quick Setup Wizard and modify from there. Hope this helps ;)

Still trying to wrap my head around the isboxer concept. But that has more to do with the chaotic way my mind works than with the quality of the documention. I see one thing, and somewhere in the text a word is linked to a next page. I find it interesting and follow it, read a much more advanced topic. Need more info on what they are actually talking about, start a search, ... then I decide I was actually going to setup a new team, I log into the game to configure some addons, someone asks me for a BG, and bam ... 3 hours later the same cycle repeats itself.

One habit from my live as a multiboxer is when I click in my slaves their window, it actually does a windows swap to the main full size toon. Turning off that behavior would help me a lot. I'm used to quickly do stuff on the resized toons as well.

But planning to spend today on setting it finally up. No raids so my 5x mage team should finnaly be up and running with isboxer so I can leave the damn goblin starting area.

The Keymap/Mapped Key section of my guide should help a bit.

A lot of those mapped keys are now integrated into the wizard, so redundant.
Nonetheless, they're written with the assumption that you know nothing about IS Boxer and want a step by step (hand held) approach.
Right click here, left click this, pick this option, etc.

The process, gives a decent idea of how the basic building blocks of mapped keys can fit together.
With that, any of the advanced topics covered by several others... becomes a lot easier to digest.
