I'm a long time lurker and first time poster. Thank you for this forum. It's been invaluable for my dual-boxxing experiences from 1-80.

Question: How does the increased phasing in WoW Cataclysm affect multi-boxxing? In WOTLK, there were certain zones which had phasing boundaries (Storm Peaks & Icecrown) which would cause my two-man group to break up. The first would hit the phasing boundary and the second would lose /follow. With the increased phasing in Cataclysm, it seems like this would be much worse from 80-85. Is there a community resolution or fix for this?

I apologize if this has been answered before. I searched the forums, but didn't find an answer. If there is an answer, I very much appreciate someone linking it here.

Phasing hasn't really seemed like that big of a deal in Cataclysm.
Sure there were points where the toons broke follow.

Same deal/fix as before.
Jamba gives notification that follow fails.
Push the key for slaves move forward, but not the active toon.
Once they're all across, press Follow.
And continue the journey.

I've not done a lot of PvE content so might be missing some annoying phase lines.

In WotLK, most of those were in Icecrown.
But they only interfered with maybe three of the eighteen or twenty dailies in my daily route.
Most of my toons live in Stormwind or next the the summoning stone for Vortex Pinnacle (Uldum).
Have not found phase lines to be an issue really.

It didn't really bother me honestly. There were some areas that had a few phases, but my latency is super low, about 100ms, so didn't slow me down as much. If your latency is bad, might be more annoying.

I found the movies and cut scenes more annoying.

I found it annoying at first. But you have to put up with it to get to 85. I will never ever go back to the 80+ cata zones unless im forced to for some reason.

Just leveling up to 85 and staying there, I guess you won't get so annoyed perhaps. But are you like me you'll sometimes be frustrated. I'm an altoholic having many chars from 20+ up to 85 and it annoys me extremely e.g. whenever higher level chars want to help my lowbies.

Two or more players located at the same place at the same time should always be able to see the same things! Now when zones changes depending on if you've done certain quests or not is just plain stupid if you ask me. You can't even see certain npcs until you completed certain quests.
Regardless of boxing or playing solo it really destroys the impression of this being one massive world for everyone to share.

This is my opinion and I do hope future expansion will not have any more open world phasings. (Phasing is only okay in certain circumstances like e.g. DK starting zone).

it really isn't bad, or at least as bad as it was in WOtLK. agree with Ualla and others that things really aren't noticable. The phasing that I have seen is just between teams that haven't done quests in a certain area so FP's appear empty, mobs unfriendly, etc They still haven't improved phasing in Northrend though from what I have seen, and JambaFollow gives me way too many false positives to the point that I disabled that portion of the addon to keep my sanity.

happy phasing

Why not just leave them at the inn and then mail them the mats since mail takes no time in a guild with the perk?

well, I get to eat my own words now. while I have noticed real improvements in phasing from the 80-85 experience, there are some areas that weren't well put together in my opinion in the old world redo, ie, the phasing border is to large and very shallow in some areas, meaning, you loose follow several times just in a short amount of time. bahhh
