If I just ran 2 windowed mode instances of WoW... can't i just attach a second LCD monitor to my 8800gts and enable windows Dualview, thus housing each instance of WoW on a separate screen? What problems would i encounter with this? I'm guessing maybe a performance drop? (Hopefully not much, e4300 @2.8ghz, 2gigs of ram and 8800gts 640).

Thanks in advance

Yes, try it. If not, then span the monitors and it SHOULD up the fps quite a bit over dualview.

SPAN!

Span - Extend your desktop across the secondary monitor.

Most video cards have two modes for dual-heading two monitors.

I. Extend desktop onto second monitor.

Under this mode, there is a virtual primary and secondary display. Due to WoW's native coding, if an instance of WoW is rendered in the secondary display, the system will experience a dramatic drop in frame rates.

To check if you are in this state, maximize WoW. If the "full screen" does not span the two monitors, then you have a virtual primary and secondary display. (disclaimer: may not behave this way on all systems)

II. Span desktop onto second monitor.

Under this mode, there is only one virtual display (primary), however it is the size of two monitors combined. Because there is only the primary display, you don't experience the extra framerate drop due to coding, but only the rendering load of having two instances of WoW running.

Maximizing WoW while your setup is under this mode should result in your character being split down the middle between the two displays. (disclaimer: may not behave this way on all systems)
