I will be taking a break from wow at the end of this month to ???.
I quit shortly after wotlk came out and was gone until fall 2010. It was difficult catching up with everything that changed while i was gone. When i came back i started over as alliance instaed of horde simply because i never played alliance before. Kind of wish i didnt have fifty alliance toons now but im not starting over yet again. When i started over i had several goals:
1. Five of every class (failed on hunter, rogue, shaman - got eight priests though!)
1B. So i could have many x5 teams
1C. And be able to play literally any five man group composition
2. Get a team to 80 (which became 85 after cata launched)
3. Start doing bgs again after done leveling everyone
I got a team to 85 but because of the class diversity theyre more suited to pve than pvp. Also, it took me longer than i expected to get to 85. 1-60 was fun and some of bc is fun a few times but wotlk was awful the first time through and went downhill from there. I do not lke 80-85 much either because of how linear it is. My level 80 team has had full rest bonus for a while now and i havent been able to get back into doing hyjal again because of how boring it was. Deepholm had way too much traveling involved. I really liked the egyptian looking zone though. For the next team i will do hyjal to reach 82, go to deepholm and aoe grind (yay dk tank) to 84 amd then get to 85 in 'egypt.' I hate grinding and i would atually prefer it to doing hyjal and deepholm all over again. Id grind out 80-84 if i thought it would work.
My main interest in wow has always been the pvp (mainly bgs and world pvp). I started doing bgs again with three healers. I enjoy it but there are issues. The main problem is that they have three different healing styles so theyre difficult to box. I need them to be identical for pvp. In order to do that, i have to finish leveling up a bunch of other toons.
What has been fun for me was leveling to 60, doing many instances "solo" from 60-80, doing some bg healing, and going back on my 85 team to do old raid content by myself or with guild members. I also like powerleveling toons when i have empty spots and can give guild members or even random peope free runs. Ive been on quite a defecit spending spree though buying a bunch of crafted pvp gear and paying for riding training for many, many slaves so i may have to start looting stuff.
I am quitting for an undetermined period of time because i will be out of the US and my laptop is ten years old and cannot even single box wow. Im sure the latency would be horrible anyway between the eastern us and japan.
Before i leave i am going to try to get all slaves to 70.
I still plan to post a bunch of 60-70 boosting data on here before i leave.
Thanks for a great website/resource/forum/community!
