Hi All - i purchased a nice G5 Logitech mouse (the one with 2 buttons on the LHS) and every now and then I hear a binging sound, the mouse lights go off and it stops responding - 10 or so seconds later the binging sound is back, the lights come on and the mouse pointer moves again just in time for me to click <rezz at gy> lol.

Is anyone else experiencing this with their mice?

Things I've tried:
searched the intertube from end to end and found not very much at all.
I've uninstalled all previous mouse sw and reinstalled the logitech drivers/sw

different mouse - no probs
different pc - probs

it's the mouse

I like this mouse especially since I keyed up Powerword Shield/Heal on those side buttons, on my Lock I have Deathcoil/Howl of terrror.

Using the same mouse myself. And love it. Haven't had any of the problem you talk about though.

Could it be USB-port related?

I had a similiar problem with a revolution. In the logitech control software, under the "gaming" tab, I set the option to "use OS implementation for mouse acceleration" and it never happened again. (I forget exactly what the option is called and I'm not in front of the machine to check -- but it's something like that).

Thanks bryanc, I found that option and it was already set, then I included wow.exe in the game profile bit and played for 4 hours without issue - but - I was only tri boxing not 5 boxing....I'll be 5 boxing tonight to give it a burl.

PLUS

I just bought a Q6600 quad core to put in tonight - noice - my dual core is ok running 5 but it sometimes gets a little freaky ie shutsdown completely with no warning lol

Hi - just an update, I put in my quad core chip over the weekend but didn't get around to muliboxing till today, no issues with the mouse after 8 hours of playing so I guess it was a lack of cpu resources causing the issue.
