Are so vastly different.

.10 c per hour to farm, like this:

Quite a world apart from what we are doing. Both in terms of complexity, time involved, etc.

the article was very interesting and gives insight into the economy in china.

with the cost of living difference between US/Europe and China (i have heard 20:1), $0.30/hr would be about $6/hr ...minimum wage here in the US. instead of working subway or macdonalds, they work a gold farm... very odd.

and as best i could tell:

$0.30/hr @ 84 hrs/wk == $25.20 / week
@ $1.25 per 100 WoWgold
that would be 2,016 WoWgold / week

If I had $.10 for every hour I put into this game I would have made a bit more than I payed in subscriptions..

Don't forget:
Account fees (creation and subscribtion)
PLing price (they gotta get their farmers to lvl 70 to maximize profit, the ~4000g that makes wont make in the time spent will it?)
Loss on account-bans
Hardware costs

Still.. if you can make 200g/hour they'll be making money..

the account cost was probably split across 2 people.. the day and night shift.

Hmm, I can pull in 1K avg a day if I'm not working that day etc, these china men need to get their act together :P
