View Full Version : Does Multiboxing look like Botting?

I'm a bit worried that my regular mining on multiple accounts at once will look like botting to most players because it's pretty hard for players to tell if someone is a bot and EVE players tend to shoot first and then not ask questions at all. I'm setup for maximum cargo on my hulks because that way they sit at the belt for longer and I have to do less checking on them. It's good that they're banning bots because it's increasing the value of my minerals and ice but maintaning a POS has gotten considerably more expensive in the last few weeks.

Seems like the EVE economy is messed up. T1 manufacturing is a loss maker 90% of the time even with very cheap minerals and I haven't made any progress towards a T2 invention/manufacturing setup - although I'm sure I'll have the same problem there in finding the right product to work with.

It depends what you're doing mate.

I've been bumped once or twice while mining Ice in Goram, but I make sure to let people know if there's any wrecks available to loot/salvage so they know I'm actually there some of the time and not a bot.

I haven't even started considering manufacturing anything yet (well, apart from our Orca in the WH) but I can't see any way of making a profit until my toons are far more advanced than they are.

I'll just stick to mining/PI and may look to other stuff in the future, but at the moment I'm quite content with how my toons are doing.

Really anything you do in even can look like botting, there are so many different kinds of bot programs out there for eve, and they all operate differently, you really can only tell based on watching them for an hour and see how they move from place to place and if they repeat the same movements and actions, ie for the mining bots. For the Ratting bots in 0.0 you can easily tell which ones are them as they will have a very interesting non-0.0 style of fit.
