I'm in that position right now... and i'm kinda tempted to move my 40 toons over but even at 1:1 that would be close to 500$. Not sure it is worth it but after putting all that effort into my alchemists... not sure.

I prefer logical thinking along the lines of stop playing WoW for now and play something else. It's not like your accounts are deleted if you stop paying for them. I quit playing WoW when i got bored and frustrated and started playing EvE Online again.

The point is it will be the same crappy realm when you come back that will frustrate you again... lol

that was why I went over to Kil'Jaeden from my old carebear server. Have been really happy with the decision even though I left several teams over there when I rerolled. I was so happy with the higher server pop and the fact it was a pvp server that it carried me through the lvl'in of my first couple of teams. Your server will still be bad when you come back to it IMO :P

Another option is to call Blizzard and ask them for a special deal to move 20 or 40 of your team. They usually will give you 1/2 off - or they'll say - you pay for 20 and we'll move 20 free. or 10/10, 5/5 etc... Maybe with 40 they'll give you a much better deal than 1/2 off.

Ditch the alchemists. A 40 man army of transmutes is always going to be a burden. Just play the 1-2 team(s) you prefer and transfer those over to the realm you like. It's not like you are short on gold I presume or don't find ways to make gold apart from transmutations. And nothing prevents you to keep doing the transmutes on the old realm, and after a few weeks transfer one toon over stocked with the mats to your new realm.

What bothers you about your server so much? I honestly don't even notice there are people on my server when I box, thought that was the idea. On my single chars, I don't mind putting up with gear, DPS or achieve checkers, I just do it for a while and when people annoy me since they won't work together or help people, I go out and box and work together and help people.

I hate my realm so much. I moved to it for season 6 3v3, but my team eventually broke up. Now I'm stuck on a low population EST server. My guild raids 11:30-2:30am ish EST. The player base of people to choose from at that time is getting worse and worse.

I have guildies that are RL friends, or long time friends and it would cost quite a bit to move us all off. Only reason I'm still on this realm.

Hate my realm alot to but i stuck with it as, well, ive got 40 alts there.
Got a team on grim batal - Horde, nice people there

But without heirlooms i dont think i could handle the collection quests in northrend again. so hopefully if this patch does allow heirlooms account bound i can transfer 1 alt with a set of heirlooms from the others
But still, with lack of gold, profs etc, not sure what to do :/

People i knew have all left MMO games.

Had a multiboxer on my realm once but he left saying he wanted to be on a realm where he was the only boxer :/

I am really happy with Alliance on my server. I called Blizzard today and they are going to give me a break on moving 5 more over. My melee shaman team is lvl 82 and will be transfered soon. In addition to our guild having tons of pvp groups there is a guild on the server that kicks all the hordes ass in Tol everyday. I am glad we don't have to fight a huge guild like that daily.

Kil'jaeden FTW! :) A lot of people hate on Ruinous... but they can get shit done on the Alliance side.

I'm not down to spend 500$ on x-fering toons. I'm still a college student remember.

I think your best bet is keeping your current accounts.
And continue with the alchemy + gold on the current server.

Then take your pick, put up with the server as is.
Or server transfer the team of your choice to a new home.
Send as much gold with them as possible, all your heirlooms, etc.
Send as much raw materials as you can as well.
Basically, enough gold to do whatever.

Then you have a choice.
Continue the gold generation each day on the previous server.
And periodically transfer a toon, with resources moving to the new server.
And level up professions on the new server, so over time you eventually don't need the old server as a source of revenue.
Or say, you have enough gold for whatever... good enough as is.

Making gold just isn't fun... and my old server is crap economy. My alchemists go to no use basically. I'm fine playing the AH with professions... i did it in wrath for most of my money i can do it again.

Also... i started on a new server and x-fered about 500k gold with me in mats. Sold about 300k so far worth. And I would need to x-fer over all 40 toons to even get my gold off (thats if they were all 81 or higher, which they aren't)

Alchemy really isn't that profitable... i mean 12k gold is all well and good per day but really i make like 5k an hour just doing stuff so it doesn't much matter =\

BoA's i didn't x-fer over since i had none. But i x-fered my warrior so i can run 3's with myself, and 5's and such.

So what is your actual question or problem?

Shania

Well im stuck on my realm too.. nothing i can do but suck it up i guess.

Raiding is done with 2 guilds, mine and someone elses... halfn half almost, near impossible to recruit raiders.

Realm has ups and downs, But i cant afford to pay thatt much money to move all my alts, fiances and kid..

Progression is picking up in raids, and just started my 2nd team, so definitely not going anywhere any time soon from the realm.

A new realm is really good for people who xfered there with a bunch of guildies and or real life friends to try and dominate the realm and other guilds.

If i could go back to high pop realm, i would in an instant.

But what is your actual issue or problem with your realm ? You havent said anything on what it is you dislike.

If you have 12k gold per day or even 300k gold total, what else do you want? Are you only going to be happy until you gold cap every char and your guild bank? What are your goals? If you only made 1k gold per day would you not be happy? Do you not like playing any other part of the game except money? It is okay if you do, but you sound like you just want to transfer so you can play money more. Have you tried to do opposite faction stuff? You can transfer gold through the neutral AH, either through gold directly or through items. Then you can set up a money system on the opposite faction side. That might give you more people to interact with.

Its a game not a job. Have fun. If it's not fun anymore. There is this thing outside called America.

ADHD imo.

ADHD imo.

I fail to see how I have ADHD simply because I decided to move servers and start fresh. I was asking if anyone had any similar situations where they basically had a sunk cost of time invested on another server they felt wasn't worth playing on any longer and their experiences if if moving servers was for the better in their opinion or not.

Its a game not a job. Have fun. If it's not fun anymore. There is this thing outside called America. I have school till 5pm every day and I do martial arts for up to 3 hours a night. I graduate college in a month with a masters in business and a minor in economics and have studied Chinese throughout my entire college career. Now I am looking for a full time job/career as well as going out with friends more often than not. Just like a majority of people on here I do indeed have a life, just because I have problems with throwing away hard work and the time invested for that work due to the cost of moving characters makes me any less of an active human being than you or anyone else on this forum? Hell I bet I'm NOT in my home more than a majority of the people on this forum.

As far as the game not being fun. The only "not fun" aspect is being on a deserted server which I can't do the things I enjoy to the full extent I wish to do them. I regret moving off Illidan like was said before basically...but at the time waiting 12 hours to log onto the server was so absurd that I just had to get off (at the beginning of cata)

The game is fun once again since I've moved to a new server with 5 other people I use to play with ALL the time as well as being invited to a top rated raiding guild that has people who are actually good at PVP above the 2200 bracket in 3's. I enjoy more of the game than what multi-boxing brings but at the same time I always enjoy boxing because it lets me just screw around and have fun which includes making gold much easier...but as I've stated it's not really a problem to make gold anymore. In the week I've been on this new server I've made over 100k gold excluding the gold I could manage to bring over on my warrior in the form of materials and such from my previous server.

So I guess "problem" solved? Though the sunk cost of leveling over 40 toons in the past hurts but this is for the better since I have much more to do than simply focus all of my time on making gold and neglecting the other aspects of the game that has made it enjoyable for me over the past 4.5 years.
