Once again I was bothered today. This time it was way different than last time. I was doing some reading online then came back to eve to check the miners. I tried to drag some ore to the hangar on the Orca, but it said I was out of range. I looked closer and noticed I was 45km away from the orca! Wtf?! I also noticed 1 of my other characters was far away too. I checked a different character and that one was randomly shot 7500km away from the group.

I had no idea wtf was going on so I warped everyone out of there. Luckily I had already mined most of the roids so I probably only lost 5million. My Orca was attempting to follow my character and was going like 500m/s (but gradually slowing down), which is insanely fast considering I've only ever seen it go 63m/s.

When I was warping everyone out there were 3 ships in the belt. One caracal and some other non-mining ships I don't remember. They were in good standing (but not green).

Anyone have any idea what the hell they were doing to me for that to happen? I had no idea you could cause ships to randomly fly around a belt. Was it just some major lag?

They might have been bouncing you around. Check out this youtube video of some people bouncing an AFK player away from dock. Its fairly entertaining. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UP1WcFm02Qg

You can even find a couple of 'bowling' fits on Battleclinic - usually cruisers or battleships with plate + MWD (plate for weight and MWD for speed)

i've never liked how much you could bump people... i never tried to do the math but it doesn't make much sense that some much smaller ship could bump an orca and get it moving far faster than the orca could ever get itself to go.

I have peolpe occassionally bumping my hisec ice team, but usually they leave us 4 alone :).

Managed a nice day of mining in the WH yesterday, but today we seemed to have aquired a Russian gank squad, so I've stayed nice and safe behind the force field today. Hopefully tomorrow is a bit quieter!

Weekends in the wormhole are when all the pirates come out.

Yeah I know. But I logged in at 9am eve timeand there were some Russian probes on DScan and within 15 mins of me being there, we had 15 jumps on Dotlan lol. We had 32 jumps before downtime :)

Been mostly empty when I was on, but I got an indy ship blown up at a customs office yesterday by a tengu. I just moved all my cargo back to the customs office before being popped and warped my pod out fast. The tengu's hard work was rewarded by one Cargo Expander II dropping. Merry Christmas Mr. Tengu.

Kept expecting that to happen to me when I logged in to sort pi out, but got lucky and nothing happened so far :)

yeah they need to fix the bump thing its really only there for afk miners i bet. But it is an act of aggression to so should flag them as such to if it is left in.:)

That's ridiculous that they can do that. Just when I though I would be left alone now that I don't jetcan mine (joined a corp and can now withdraw from corp hangar on Orca) I now have to deal with these morons.

Are you mining in a 1.0 security system or something?? I never got messed with as much as you do.

It's never happened to me either - I'm down in 0.5

I'm thinking that it also depends a lot on the region and the local population - Metropolis is a drag becasue it's got a lot more gankers, griefers, and scammers operating there but Tash-Murkon is a pretty quiet backwater but selling ice/ore there isn't as profitable

It's a .7 system. I'd say 50% of the mining ops during the week I am messed with. I temporarily relocated to a larger system with 15 belts and was messed with everytime I went out, so I went back to my original area.

It MUST be because they warp in and see an orca and 3 hulks in the n00b corporation all together. So they must think I'm good bait or a afk miner.

I will report back if I am messed with now that I am in Morgaanti's corp.

Be thankful that me or one of my friends didn't see you mining in a .7 system. We tend to suicide gank miners, so a bit of irritation due to some bumpers is rather minor in the grand scheme of things.

EVE exists so people can mess with people. They won't care what corp you're in.

They're actually quite handy for organising in statinos as well because at least they can be moved afterwards unlike the station containers

Bumping in high sec for the purpose of griefing is actually petitionable. I had a freighter that a typhoon was bumping me repeatedly in outside a station. I petitioned, typphoon disappeared, GM informed me you can't bump in high sec to grief.

Course they may look at this a bit differently, even though how many accounts you're running should have nothing to do with it.

You're trying to inject logic into a situation rife with emotional bipolarism.

I'm ice mining now. There's about 25 ships in the belt I'm in, so I figure 25-1 odds I'll get bumped there. Yay.
