Hey Everyone,
I am a complete noob when it comes to dual-boxing, but I'm learning more and more stuff as I read the posts and guides on the forums. Here's how I want to do this: I want to run two instances of wow, one on my desktop and one on my laptop, the computers will be hooked together with a lan cable. Could you guys give me tips on what programs/hardware I should use/buy. thanks :D

i have 2 ideas that you could try:
1. use the laptop as a second monitor instead of another computer and then just buy keyclone, you will be able to start boxing easily in about 10 minutes
2. find a way to broadcast your keyboard and mouse across your network to work with the laptop too, i personally dont know how to do this because i only have 1 computer but i thin you can use keyclone or octopus and do this

I have dual monitors on my desktop... but i hate to strain my poor little 7800 video card by running two wow's on it @ once
would u suggest octo or keyclone? which is better?

cpu hovers at 50, haven't bothered checking the card since I never notice any issues with shearing or artifacting.

1 monitor runs MT fullscreen 1680x1050, other monitor runs 4 at 840x525 each.
I'm also running quad-core with 4Gb ram under Vista64 so depending on your hardware it still may not be feasible.

You know. There are like 4,000 posts. Like 2500 of them are people asking the same questions. They have been answered. That is why we have guides and FAQ guides.
Buy to copies of keyclone to broadcast the keys over the two comps.

Since you just want to multibox using two computers you might be interested in checking out my thread about using AHK to send keys ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=4448') remotely from one computer you play on to another computer.
(My setup works well with 1 computer where you play and a second computer with one or several copies of WoW where your alts live.)
