Another suggestion would be the lightheaded mod which can be found here http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info7017-LightHeaded.html

Also I use cartographer for the GPS-like feature, you open your map and ctrl+right click a spot and it displays an arrow in front of you that points to your destination and also shows how much estimated time to get there.
