Steelseries Cataclysm mouse and Keyclone

I recently purchased a Steelseries Cataclysm mouse and am having some issues in Keyclone. At the moment I only have strafe bound (to mouse keys 4 and 11) as I'm lazy, and I'm using the option to set up the keys within wow rather than using the mouse software outside the game.

The trouble I'm having is that button 11 is passing to both screens (with Keyclone paused) and then if I click on my 'alt' screen I can no longer use the keyboard (with my old generic microsoft 5 button mouse I was able to do this with no problem). If I use pip to make the 'alt' screen the main screen then the keyboard will work for that window. Also after it breaks like this my 11 button stops working altogether so I have to relog if I want to be able to use it.

This problem only started when I installed the new mouse, so I'm guessing it has something to do with that, maybe the extra buttons or the profiles it makes.

If anyone has encountered this problem or has ideas about how I can fix it then I would really appreciate it. I've tried adding the mouse clicks to the dnp list in Keyclone but it doesn't recognise them.

I'm using Windows 7 if that makes any difference.

I assume you are running both KC and the mouse software as Administrators.

If possible, can you change your assorted mouse buttons to broadcast key combinations?
Then have those key combinations as the hotkey for whatever you want to do.
Rather than sending them as button inputs?

tl;dr my opinion of game-specific-marketed mice is complete shit, don't bother.
