a bit more explanation in about the 5th reply. i had origionally posted while the server for this website was changing so that post was lost sadly.

It probably had more to do with the shuffling around of the servers. We are upgrading to a dedicated server and a few posts may have been lost.

oh, makes sense. sorry for the rash conclusion. really i was just introducing myself and askin for advice on which team to take to 70 with arena/pvp as a main goal.

i got a 5 shaman team at 32, a 4 hunter team at 34... thinking of making priest/4locks or priest/4mages. i read a bunch of forum posts recently but wanted to ask you guys the question... if you knew what you know now and had to start over, which team would you play (for arena/pvp)?

it is very helpful on my shaman team that everyone can heal, and chain lightning is great to hurt more than 1 person. 4xseed of corruption could be great too, with 4 felguards charging and cleaving. im not sure that i like my 4 hunter team though. i like the pom pyro mage + priest team movies, but i'd be worried that the toons are too squishy. not sure what combos i haven't considered that are good, but i'm pretty sure multitarget damage will be very important for arena. 4xfrost mage pets and frost bolts flying everywhere might do the trick also. getting 30-40 is easy and fun, but it's a huge time investment getting them to 70 and i dont want to feel i've made the wrong decision later =(.

my main guy is a black temple attuned warlock, Malkav on the Llane(pve) server. i went to magtheridon and got some help months ago with setting up everything and it works great, thanks reprisal/oath. i gotta stay on Llane though, too many friends there.

Ya I saw your post on the old hosting, sorry :(
onto the good news! Welcome to the community :) I understand on your decision to stay with your realm as well, it is hard to leave friends behind to join another server. Good luck though on whichever team you decide to stick with!

i'm narrowed down to 1 priest 4 locks, 5 shaman, or 5 druids

can't decide =(. 5 druids it would be fun to have 1 tank, 4 balance druids in caster form that 4xlifebloom the tank, then dps. 5 moonkin would be fun to do nothing but spam moonfirex5 on people till they die, just for kicks. i'd obviously be more successful doing wrath or starfire when playing seriously, but as druids i'd be more susceptible to aoe fear/cc than shamans.

i got my 5 shamans to 35 already(main shaman is 60 already), hopefully 40 by the end of this weekend. they are a blast. totems, totems, totems! i have great castsequence macros and am working toward the 41 elemental totem. the shaman box pvp vids are very impressive, i can see myself doing av a lot on these toons one day.

1 priest (enough shadow for shadow weaving, rest survival/heal spec) 4 warlock (3 felguard 1 UA) could be cool too. my main toon that i raid on is a 70 warlock, formerly UA / now destruction for hyjal. as all undead i could dodge an aoe fear once in a while, and i don't have to face my target to dot them up while pets beat them up. not sure how this team would do in arena though.

really my main concern is i don't want to get a team to 70 and geared and feel that i chose the wrong combination. anyone who has tried these combos please advise me on the pros/cons of these three teams. my number one goal is to 1-shot people in pvp for that wtfpwnedbbqage. arena 2k rating would be a goal, but depending which of the three teams i choose it would be harder than another. for me though, arena is for gear (which will eventually come over time with a lower rating) while battlegrounds are where domination is preferred. please advise.

it comes down to your play style and what you want to do, pve/pvp.

As much as I hate jumping on the band wagon, 4-5 shaman.... 20-25 totems + 4-5 death macros, 4-5 fire elementals, just seems like win to me. Mainly I went with shaman over drooid due to totems.

Plus my main is a warlock, time for sumthing new :P

Warlock would be very easy though, b/c pets take no coordination plus you don't need to worry about facing the right way with dots.
Though @ 70..... 5 seeds of corruption is loltastic.

[Edit]

Also I chose shaman becuase I wanted to do a bit of PvE, and I really have a hard time not playing a class with a heal spell (life drain, but meh) With warlocks, they just die, you have no real way to save/heal them, beyond death coil and drain life (which isn't too powerful unless specced for it. It works OK as UA, to drain tank things, but most heroic mobs will kill you.)

thanks for the advice. i'll stick with my shamans and see how good i pvp with them at 60 in av =).
