Hi,

I'm new to multi-boxing and so far am having a blast. I've done everything else except this so I figure why not? My team is currently 3 warlocks and another team of 3 shammies. I'm using Keyclone and it's working beautifully.

Here's my question... so I pay the $20 to activate Keyclone and that's not a problem. But it seems to me that Keyclone checks the license every time you run it. I understand and support that a small developer has to do what he can to make sure no one rips him off... but... What happens if the developer goes out of business (either because he wanted to or because he's forced to)? Will there be some kind of assurances to the existing user base that have paid for the product to be able to keep on using it?

I know Keyclone is on the forum a bit and would appreciate some kind of answer. I know no one wants to think about those things, but it would sure be nice to know that I can continue to run my team should Keyclone decide to do something else in the future.

Thanks! :)

well... considering Solid ICE has been around since 1998, i do not think it will go anywhere, anytime soon

Argh... I knew this was coming back to bite me.

My computer has nothing special to it... just 2 internal drives, and 2 USB drives. My Windows is on the E: drive and the C: drive was an older operating system that hasn't been used for a long time.

Anyhow, I decided to re-format the C:\ drive yesterday to clean everything out. Aside from that, nothing has changed. Yet, Keyclone now thinks my System ID is different than before and reports that my license has expired.

I paid $20 for Keyclone (didn't get in when it was $10 like you guys), but after 5 days or so it has stopped working. I'm going to contact Bruce and I'm sure it'll get resolved, but I'm afraid this system will be too much of a hindrance going forward and hence my initial question on the activation and calling home every time you run it. I just don't like software that is too smart for its own good and I hope that Bruce re-thinks this in the future because paying customers deserve better.

sorry phuocle ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=User&userID=3221'), but it won't be changing any time soon.

most people don't reformat their OS weekly. if you are, you may want to resolve that issue first.

as for your license, as it says in the FAQ... along with numerous posts, just send me your old system-id along with the new system-id and i'll transfer it over no problem.

and keyclone will 'call home' about as long as WoW does...

Always love the paying customers deserver better part, you knew what you where getting in to, but yet you complain? If you dont like it, go hardware or octopus? Keyclone has my vote as being an up to standard guy (eventhough he is self destrucive at his christmass shopping, and yes i still remember ;)).

Sorry, I posted in frustration.

I'm definitely not one of those that reformat their OS weekly. I'll send you an email.

Thanks for your help.

no problem... i hope you get your system issues resolved.
it can be very frustrating when you want to get moving and you can't
(like one of those slow-mo nightmares...)
