I currently use an AMD 940BE quad core processor (not OC'd). Thinking about making a new system and wondered if anyone uses the AMD 6 CORE processor listed below to five box WoW and what their experience with it has been. The AnanTech bench scores dont seem like a huge improvement over a quadcore for what it would cost to build a complete system...
AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor

Pages 9 and 10. Also note that this is PRE-Sandy Bridge.
My advice - If you're building a new system, get an Intel i5-2500K or wait until AMD's Bulldozer to see if it can compete.
I have an i5-2500K with the MSI P67A-GD65 motherboard (one button overclocking) - I OC'd to 4.4 GHz on air with the one button overclock.
5-boxing doesn't break a sweat on a 30" monitor (all windows at 2560x1600 overlapping)

Hey, I'm coming back to WoW for a bit and built a computer around the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition CPU.
Its the one just below that one clocks in at 3.2GHz.
I am going from 3 old Intel 775 socket based PC's for multi-boxing into 1.
I also bought a motherboard which will support the new AM3+ CPU's (Bulldozer) just in case they turn out to be on par with the new intel's. :)
I'll let you know in about a week or two how the new system runs 5 accounts.
