ok, well i have an nvidia 8600 gts and it has the DVI outputs... the thing came with 2 adapters so i can plug in regular monitors, but i kinda lost one of the adapters. i was wondering if there was a way to enable my motherboard's monitor connector so i could use that for my second monitor, right now it doesnt work... :(
You *CAN* but it will be VERY slow for any 3d.

Just buy another one.
Note: There are two types of DVI Connectors: DVI Analog and DVI Digital. If your DVI is digital, this DVI Adaptor will not work. Please check your DVI Pins carefully whether this DVI adaptor will fit in.

Depends on the motherboard.
But I'd be inclined to say no.
Once you attatch a graphics card all Graphics is routed through that.
