So.

I havent played too much this expansion, ive been on and off. My highest group is 84 and i havent quested past the underground stone place yet. Lot left for me to see, and i see they are adding a couple new (old) troll dungeons as 5 mans, so thats cool.

My aim has always been towards clearing dungeons. Im probably done with Eve online here soon (for the time being) and am ready to take another stab at WoW. Id like to get input from people who have been successful in heroics so far.

Whats working for teams? Is CC required as people suggested, and what classes are you having luck with there?

Are melee still doing poorly, as some people suggested when the expansion launched, or are they doing OK now?

Ive always ran melee but honestly I am interested in a casual but progressive group where im not getting my teeth kicked in left and right, so i am open to changing my composition. (Right now at 84 i have druid, pally, shaman, dk, priest).

Thanks for any help, i will be looking around the forums in the meantime trying to catch up, ive been ignoring the WoW posts.

You'll need some kind of CC before you out gear instances.
You'll need to perfect some round robin interrupts.

GL 5 mans seem a bit discouraging (granted I've not boxed in months)

Melee wasn't too bad, barring certain gimmicks. But for every anti-melee gimmick, there was an anti-ranged gimmick. You can always swap your group around to casters if you just find melee intolerable by swapping your DK to tank, pally to heal, druid to boomkin, priest to shadow and shammy to ele.

On a related note, I've decided to gear up my tank by queueing solo, then I'm gonna try boxing some heroics. With instant queue times for tanks, it's been pretty easy to gear up, with the added bonus of learning the instances before having to 5 box them
