When I quit Wow the last time, it was early into the WOTLK expansion. Everything I leveled was x5 because I used keyclone and it was easier to keep everything the same. Some friends restarted wow but they all play horde. I'm wondering what toons I should xfer to my current accounts. The primary goal will be PVP. Anyway, here are the toons (have five of everything listed) I can choose from:

LEVEL 60:
druids
priests
paladins

LEVEL 70:
hunters

LEVEL 73:
mages
4 warlocks + 1 priest (have epic flight & netherdrakes)

NOTES:
I have almost zero gold on any of these toons and i'm not going to resub long enough to transfer what little I might have from an AH toon to an xfer toon. Gold was worth something back when i quit on these accts. I made 25k on a sixth account selling alliance pets to the horde and selling cheap horde glyphs on the overpriced alliance AH back when you couldnt have both factions on a pvp server. I spent everything i had to train epic flight five times.
I will have no other horde toons on the destination accts.
I currently have no heirlooms.
The locks have the netherdrakes (my favorite flying mounts) but world pvp is dead unless blizzard makes unforeseen changes to the game.
I definitely prefer healing when doing BGs but five demon locks would probably raise serious hell in BGs.
I do not look forward to leveling through wotlk if I cannot do dungeons so I will probably level purely through PVP.

THOUGHTS:
Druidx5 would let me PVE if I wanted but the purpose of PVE would only be to get me to 85. Plus bear tanks suck right now.
Priestx5 would let me go shadow in small BGs and healer in bigger ones.
I'm not really crazy about mages. They were fun when AOE was good.
Hunters are fun in bigger BGs and might be able to do some regular instances as BM spec but PVP is my goal.
Locks might be able to do some instances, too. Would be better for PVP than hunters.
Mix team of pally, mage, lock, druid, priest would let me do anything but I prefer PVP at endgame. When I tried 4xPriest+Lock the lock ended up standing around 95% of the time. I guess a mixed team could pvp but this group would be 73,73,60,60,60 so I'd have to level the 60s up together first. I suppose I could run them as Prot,Fire,Demon,Boom,Holy as a pvp team but pvp is so unpredictable I think the PVE strengths of a mixed team become a liability in PVP.
A final option would be to transfer only one 60 paladin and start four DKs but I'm worried about how susceptible that gimmick team is to nerfs. But I guess its no less so than any 5X team.

QUESTION:
I thought about making a new team on my friends' server but I'm worried about how long 1-60 (or 1-73) will take without RAF. If you were in my situation (all one faction currently, friends come back and they are the other faction) what would you do? I'm not interested in faction changing toons on my currently active accounts since I dont know how long these people will keep playing. I am interested enough to xfer five existing toons though.

What are your thoughts?

If you can make Death Knights on the new realm/faction, because you have toons at 55+...

I'd go 4x DK's and a Healer.
They'll start at 55th, and you know the composition works both for PvE and PvP.

A friend could play their healer with you.
Or you could drop a DK for another friend to play tank or DPS.

If your only choices are those you listed.
Priests could work... but I'd probably go 5x Druids or 5x Paladins.
Basically because they can all tank, heal and dps.
So give you a bunch of flexibility.

From the tone of your text you're not too enthusiastic about playing wow. A half assed team will get destroyed in BGs because resiliance is so important now and heroic dungeons take a lot of wipes and dedication to complete. Might as well single box, hang out with your friends for a while and not trouble yourself with the time it takes to set up ISboxer or whatever you used before.

Im currently running with 5 hunters and most of my xp gains were from doing dungeons and BGs! Im lvl 85 now, gearing up in PvP gear. I kick ass in the bigger BGs like AV, AB, IoC and eots. But die more ofte due to the fact that I dont have any healing spells. But all in its great fun :) more fun then my 4 x lvl 85 ele shamans.

If I didn't care about money or heirlooms I would just level new toons on the other faction. It would essentially be like starting over on a new server. Leveling is so fast now it is ridiculous even without RAF. Even if you haven't leveled on the opposing faction they practically hold your hand now with all of the tools they have added into the game. If you have one of your toons do gathering just remember that they will get xp but the other members of the group won't get it. I got pretty out of sync from that level wise once but I had heirlooms to make up the difference.

You also have the option of just buying battlechestsx5 to get RAF again which can actually be cheaper than transferring toons but that will only let you play up til BC. You would still need to buy LK and Cata if you wanted to play to 85 which would obviously be more expensive.

I concur with Ualaa about the DKs and healer. That's my goto comp when I want to steam roll stuff.
