Evening all, I just got my network and second computer working.. but I can't seem to get Octopus 1.1.1 working with city of heroes.. They can connect, and I get get the games to start by using the server profile.. but once I click agree, and "CohUpdater.exe" goes in to "cityofheroes.exe" it stops broadcasting (I believe). This is my first time trying a program like this, and really want it to work.

I have to have it set to "CohUpdater.exe" to start, because it's the only way the game will run that I know of. I've tried cityofheroes.exe- and tried the auto add windows option in Octopus.

[11:33:59][C ] Removed 'Account1 (City of Heroes Updater v16.20071011.1)'. <---- this is what pops up on PC #1.

[11:34:01][C ] Removed ' [k] Account2 (City of Heroes Updater v16.20071011.1)'. <---- PC #2.

Is there a working program to broadcast keys with City of Heroes? Or am I doing something wrong.

Okay I figured it out, now it works.. but only when I manually go to Client> windows> check auto add windows > window title > then I have change it every time I zone.

Is there a simpler way of doing this >_>. Or maybe will there be an update sometime where we can enter multiple window names.

kind of off topic but I remember trying out CoH it didn't seem too Multi-boxer friendly. do they have a /follow type system?

The only way I find to be able to do it EFFECTIVELY is with one class type, exact clones(power wise) with same enhancements. They do have a follow system, and a great bind system to make everything nearly automated.. if you utilize it, and I do :P . The other thing that is nice about COX in multi-box regards is whoever you have targeted, you attack what they attack automatically.. and there is also a /assist if you want the one character to hit a seperate target. I tried multiple sets last night with my numerous characters and the only way I would do this is with two clones.. which is fine, because some have excellent synergy. (fire/rad corruptor for example)

One thing I'm having trouble conquering is the inspirations (temporary buffs/heals that are one time use and come as you kill mobs) I wish they would automatically organize as they came in. Also the mouse cursor/clicks option in Octopus doesn't work properly in CoH, which is fine because like I said you can make plenty of binds -but would still be a nice feature, I imagine. I know a guy that doesn't even play with a mouse, he's the only one I know that does this, but it's good to know you are still able to.

If I find a proper fix for these issue I'm having I will certainly post the solutions. :) But so far the solution to my original post. Tt looks like going in to - Octopus > client > Windows > auto add windows (check) > Window title > Whatever zone you are in -should fix it

Ahh fond memories of CoH. CoH seems (to me) to be much more suited for hardware solutions (such as the kvm style stuff) rather than software (client synch) solutions. Also you'd need to make sure your powers for travel and such are pretty similar, and since there are CHANGEABLE cooldowns you'd need to put in enhancements the same on each power.

Yikes. But it's a great idea and I love it. Good luck!!

City of Heroes was very multiboxer friendly, I dual boxed it personally, and I knew a guy who 5-boxed the trials or whatever they were called. It had a good implicit targeting system very simliar to Everquest 2. The only difficulty was 3d movement at times, but it never really impeded me much. You just set one character as a teleporter for long-distance travel. It was a blast pretty much, now that Champions has been announced, I'm hoping that will improve the one thing I didn't like about it, which was repetive content. Still, it was a good game for a couple months imo.
