According to worldofraids.com, in patch 2.4 you'll be able to join AV as a group again, no need for mods in the future?

My biggest hope for 2.4 is that the Alliance on our battlegroup will finally end their "AV Boycott" and decide to queue again. In the last 2 months, our 60-90 second queues exploded to 70+min after the entire alliance side of the battlegroup decided to take their ball and go home.
Never underestimate the power of tears. Alliance cried about the AV geometry long enough and finally got it changed. If they still get stomped what will their excuse be this time?

The alliance bitching/whining started after Blizz had decided that enough was enough and it was time to balance AV, it's not the fact that the alliance were whining that made them tweak it more, they'd already started balancing it
Oh man join as group option.. thats so tempting to roll in there and 10 box. Even if only on the PTRs.
1/4 chance to get leader... as long as the 3/4 other times, I am given leader or put into correct groups....... heloooooooo honor farming :)

I've noticed something about being leader in bgs. I haven't been able to quite nail it down, but I think it works like this. If you join the bg while in a group, and are the last leader group leader to join (meaning that any other group leader that joined joined before you), then you get it.
I'm not 100% sure on the mechanic, but basically I queue up wsg/ab/eots with friends here and there, and when I do, if I wait approx 1 min to join, I am almost always the raid leader when I get in.
BTW, whatever the mechanic is exactly appears to work right now with AV, even though you can't join as a group. Meaning, if you queue up as a group leader, this same type of thing works. We ran AV as a group (queueing individually until we got the same one, of course) a few weeks back, and our group leader was almost always raid leader when we got in.
Try it out.

This is something I have been waiting for, for a long time. I swear its going to rape. I cannot wait to see my whole guild go into an AV and smash on the horde.

The one thing I don't like about this just occured to me a couple minutes ago:
organized AFK reporting. Ironically more strategic than their AV strategy in general -- a pug horde was able to wipe them all. ;)
But they'd organize their AFK reporting when Suvega or I were defending nodes/capping towers so that we wouldn't earn honor for the nodes we were defending/capping. Happened like 5-6 times on me alone -- they'd afk report me while I was waiting to rez at a GY, and by the time I was even close to any battles I'd already have the idle flag up.
Meanwhile Suvega and I are tearing up the healing and damage meters, and other pugs are complaining on BG that "the multiboxers are doing better than your org" but it doesn't matter. With the amount of afk reports they're able to give thanks to being an org, we're still out the honor.

http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/thread.html?topicId=4665490784&sid=1Its because you are Alliance Vyn, Horde players at least in our Battlegroup know who the Zerg are and instantly allow us to do our things 90% of the time. The other 10% sucks, but I still get honor.

The only bad thing about this is when you come up against a pre made season 3 40 man raid :(

Old topic, new patch ...
tarted playing AV yesterday, and lol got leader 11 times in a row...
Maybe because no other groups signed up but it sure is funny. Other people seen it aswell and began talking about it BG chat. "zomg you use an addon to sign or something ?"
I also got in a few times when I was the last group, cos I was gettign a drink while waiting for AV when I could enter it. Still got leader.
Off topic:
Good thing I run only 3 shamans and a paladin + mage with all different guilds, only got 2 whispers so far about boxing, and nothing has been set in BG chat yet. Other then LOL AT CHAINNN HEALLZZ!

I had been avoiding the battlegrounds while I waited for the new reputation PVP gear. Up until Saturday, I had only done a handful of BGs with my guild. Well, I started BGs Saturday afternoon. I earned about 4k honor in the few hours I played. Every single BG I joined, I was the leader. I spent almost all day Sunday doing the same thing. I did AB and AV and about 4 or 5 EotS. Every single time I was the leader. I usually joined as soon as the enter BG window popped up.
You really have to develop a thick skin to do BGs. PVP'ers in general (not all PVP'ers of course) are pretty harsh. I got called numerous names, was told that I totally suck and that I was being reported for farming (this was on an AB where I managed to coral the horde in at their grave yard giving the rest of my team free reign to cap all the nodes), and had many other unsavory things said to me. I also ended up having 2 or 3 people in an AB "help" me. So we ended up with 7 or more people in one spot which of course didn't make me very popular. If I sat still and held a node, I wasn't assisting the team. If I assaulted another node, then I wasn't defending my previous node. It was almost a no win situation. EotS was pretty fun though. I think the normal horde PVP'ers must have taken the night off because we racked up 4 or 5 wins in a row that weren't even close.
I play on Khadgar and we are part of the Stormstrike battle group.

QFT. I also loved not having to scream "PUT ALL THE VELA-named SHAMMIES IN THE SAME GROUP KTHX" seven billion times to a AFK bg leader.
Very nice.

Same here, I was leader all day yesterday in AV. It was great, cause when Evilseed showed up he didn't have any problems trying to get his hunters all in one group, I just set up parties for both of us. Seems like right now, multiboxers are ALWAYS bg leader in AV. 8)

I'll have to finally try AV again especially if I can put all my guys in one group, though I'll still probably turn off BG chat. I really do need the gears from it.

The BG leader thing shouldn't be too big of a surprise - if there are more people from your group compared to others you are defaulted as raid leader. I've had a few times where I was leader then it got snagged from me automatically because a group came in that was larger than mine. I had that happen once and the new raid leader took the whole AV raid and organized it by groups of colors... was quite funny.
