I have a 5 computer hardware (Vetra Broadcaster) setup, & use synergy for mouse movement. This is pretty much per Xzin's writeup.
I currently have a 2port kvm, that i mainly use to "Turn my Vetra Broadcaster On & OFF" by using some Y splitters & going right back into my main comp.

I have to buy another kvm for a work related thing & am thinking of donating My current 2port KVM & upgrading to a 4 or 8 port.
I am looking for a PS2 solution that can handle a resolution of 1920 x 1280.

My question is do any of you use a larger KVM in your setups? & what thoughts or advice you might have on brands, & potential options for different connection setups?

Thanks.

That might be a hard KVM to find. I did find a Blackbox model that supports the resolution you want, but it is a USB KVM and the video is over a high density connector and not a DVI. You could couple this with a PI-Engineering (the makers of the X-Keys) Y-Mouse adapter to get PS/2 connectivity.

You can also call Blackbox and ask them for exactly what you are looking for to see if it is available. Blackbox makes extremely high quality gear by the way.

USB KVMs are useless for Multiboxing because of the handshaking lag.

Thanks guys, so I take it no one really uses more than a 2port with a hardware setup for multiboxing?

There are several who use KVMs for more than 2 boxes, but I don't know if they use the resolution you asked about.
