Hi everyone, I'm new here

I recently used the RAF in WOW to try to make it so i can level my toons up better when I found it took the same amount of time to level having to jump back from screen to screen. When looking for a better option I came across multiboxing. I read the sticky for new users and seem to get the basics but it still seems a bit much. Im not looking for anything fancy. Quite simply all I want is to be able to be able to level quicker. I plan on only multiboxing with 2 characters and I have no problem with them being the same class. More or less this is simple but im lost as to what program I should use. I dont want to pay for anything, at least not yet until I know multiboxing is something I want to do in the future. The simpler everything is, the better!

Thanks in advance for any help!

I don't know what to tell you that's not in the thread. There's links and tutorials in there for free programs, pay programs, free trials and explanations on how to set it all up.

If you only want to level the toons, but aren't interested in boxing them down the road...
I'd probably go with Keyclone for your software.

It doesn't have great mouse support, for AoE's and such.
And is not the best for PvP (lacking instant PiP swaps and automatic FTL).
But it has straight keybroadcasting, supports round-robins etc.
So in short, it will work even if its not a fancy option.

It also costs $20 or so, for a lifetime license that never expires.

If you're interested in boxing with two or more toons at once.
And actually play duo's, not just level pairs of toons...

Take a look at HKN and IS Boxer.
If you're comfortably scripting, HKN is free.
If not, IS Boxer has a wizard and a lot of support.
Both are great products to "box" with.

If you can elaborate on what you're not sure of.
You have a better chance of an answer.

Thanks for the help, after watching more of the vids I just decided to buy keyclone and it works wonders (in addition to the macros i made and Jamba), I went from playing two locks to level 15, two mages to level 10, and currently a pally mage and preist (one is a trial account)...I picked up the micro part of it quick and will probably try five guys in the future

Personally, I started off by using Macrogoblin to multibox (I didn't use any of the bot features, just the key broadcasting using a set of buttons made into an overlay).

It worked great for simple boxing setups (EQ1 - Shadowknight/Shaman/Wizard).

Once I started playing Rift, I found that Macrogoblin didn't quite have all the features I wanted like window swapping, role changes, stepped round-robin setups, etc. So I switched over to ISBoxer.

So far I have been loving ISBoxer for my Chloro+Chloro, Bard+Bard+Bard, and Justicar+Inquis+Inquis team. The only thing I miss that Macrogoblin had and ISBoxer doesn't is "Pixel monitoring".

I used the Pixel monitoring to let me know when cooldowns were done on some of my more useful spells. Specifically it watched the icon for Radiant Spores and turned the "radiant" button on my overlay red while the spell was in cooldown (I watched for the pixel color changes from "on cooldown" to "ready").

Wonder if I can convince someone to add that into ISBoxer... lol
