You can but you will have to use broadcasting software like Keyclone. But why use virtual's when you can use them straight away on the host PC ? You will loose alot of memory / cpu speed to just running the multiply Windows / what ever you are planning on running.
Don't go for VM's, get them WoW's running on 1 pc..cheaper + faster

A virtual desktop and a virtual machine are two totally diffrent things. You could use a Virtual desktop, Setup HotkeyA to bring Desktop A to front & etc. It actually might work out pretty well as some of the Virtual Desktop software I've seen allows you to display ALL your out of focus desktops on a secondary display. So press Button 1, it flips Desktop 1 to the screen & etc.
Sounds great to me :-D Screenshots when you get it working.

Are you talking about Virtual Machines? or multiple desktop instances using a desktop manager a la http://z-sys.org/vvdm.aspx ('http://z-sys.org/vvdm.aspx') as is common in X?
Damn beat me to it Wilbur

Aah ofcourse ... Mixed them up, sorry ..
Indeed might be a good idea if it works, saves space. I however like to see what's going on on all screens at any moment.
