I've been trying to piece together a new rig for some time now and I've found monitors to be the hardest part to decide on without being able to put them on my desk and decide how I like them. Right now I'm looking a tri monitor setup with all three side by side (considering mounting two of them vertically) two monitors will be on my primary desktop while the other will be hooked up to my seconday computer. I would like all three to be the same model or else I'd probally go insane after a few weeks, any tips or recomendations would be greatly appriciated but so far this one has the most promise of all the ones I've seen. http://reviews.cnet.com/lcd-monitors/samsung-px2370/4505-3174_7-34048108.html?tag=contentMain;compare < looked into this one a bit more and I don't think it's going to work for what I need *edit

I can absolutely confirm that. After upgrading one of my screens last year I went close to insane because I was not able to match the color profiles. Took two days until I gave up and decided to upgrade the other one too.

Now I'm running two Dell UltraSharp U2410 and one older Dell 2407 on my secondary PC so its close enough to a triple-setup.

This is geting tricky, trying to balace the features I want and the price tag so I don't spend to much. Building a whole new system for the first time and even tho I have plenty of money saved up I don't really want to blow it all in one shot.

Maybe I should get like a 32" or so TV that has the right input ports and just run off that it might be cheaper in a way, does anyone here have experience with that kind of thing?

Try to not buy TN panels. Especially if you want to put things in portrait mode. I can't speak for S-PVA or IPS (want!), but TN viewing angles in portrait mode are horrid.

I currently run 3 toons on a 32" samsung lcd at 1080p. I have my main window full screen with 2 PiP's for the slaves, about 3" each, just so I can verify that they are interacting with their targets, place my ground aoe cursor etc. Its worked really well, but I have been thinking of upgrading to 3 of these http://www.ncix.com/products/?sku=55963&vpn=BL2400PU&manufacture=BenQ

They are a good panel, can pivot and are at a good price. There is an asus IPS panel that's a bit cheaper, but the bezel is thick and it can't pivot.

hope that helps your decision :)

These post where all helpful but I shomehow feel I'm no closer to my decision than before, luckly I still have a solid two months before I can act on anything anyway.

Dell Ultrasharp monitors use IPS panels, which are the best (and most expensive) type of monitor panel you can have.
