OMG. Started at 46 with no quests. Found a few now Im 49 and a half. Please shoot me now.

I have been stuck at high 40 for a week now. [Lame] as hell. But good note is I only need half a lvl to get back into questing :)

Now I go back to finding odd ball quests.

Xzin Edit: Please keep it respectable.

Where have you been questing? surely Tanaris/hinterlands/searing gorge (or is it burning steppes?) have something for you.

I got 51 in steppes/gorge; Steppes is probably best saved for 54+. Gorge is 47-49, so perfect timing, and the Thorium Point quests are both numerous and rewarding, and they made that asshole overseer non-elite with only 1 nonelite add now vs him + 2 adds all elite pre-2.3. Hinterlands is also a good choice, 46-50ish, the Gamerita quest in particular should help you :p Move on to un'goro around 50ish, s'where I'm headed next once I catch up my other quests.

You should've run ZF in the mid-40s :p Clear Tanaris too if you haven't, except for that Gahzridian quest...hard enough to collect on one char let alone boxers lol

I just did some quests in Plaguelands, L55-56 for me consisted of: quest line for the field cauldrons (50K), Andorhal quest to kill Araj (28K), and turned in 30 each of Dark Iron Scraps, Core of Elements, etc at EPL (47K), and 1-2 more quest I'm forgetting. This took about 1 hour for the level, but is a bit skewed since those turn-ins took 0 time and were a huge chunk of XP. Still, maybe 1.5 hours per level from quests, I think would be good.
Next up, the kill quests from Tirion Fordring (25K) and the Scholomance key line -- that one gives almost 40K, involves a trip to Tanaris and Un'goro though, but I'll hit some easy quests there as well as in Silithus. Then Outlands for gearing up and then do some rep grind to honored in instances. :)

Questing is faster, but depending on your setup probably not THAT much faster. I grinded XP in Stratholme from 48-53/54 to get revered with Argent Dawn (so I can 5-man Naxx trash I guess, lulz?) and averaged about 60K per hour in XP including loot time and the occasional trip to LHC to vendor/repair/mail off junk. Skipping loot - if I could have afforded it - would have doubled the XP/hour. My next group, I will definitely skip looting all trash mobs with.

Dunno if your're horde or alliance. I'm horde and since i left SM at 41 I've been questing ever since and it's been great xp for me all the way. Only done instances after SM once each cept for BRD which I ran 3 times cos it's great. Am almost lvl 59 and am way ahead of where I wanted to be. Still in WPL. Not touched EPL winterspring or silithus yet.

I have been stuck at high 40 for a week now. Gay as hell. But good note is I only need half a lvl to get back into questing :)

Now I go back to finding odd ball quests.I had the same problem, 46 - 49 I pretty much grinded 80% of it (killing mobs / instances) I had cleared all the zones far to quickly. I found the next 5 levels fine and then it started to drop again, 57 - 58 was as bad as the 46-49 group but then you get to outlands and it's not so bad at all !

I must admit during my first few days of the annoying struggle things looked bad but it soon picks up again and it's so worth it :)

GG nubSo your saying I am a nub because you assume I skipped collection Quests? Right well anyways....

I have done all quests for ZF, and ST. I forgot about Mara. Good Idea for me. Ill find all the quests for that instance and hit it up tonight. Thanks for the tip.

Ignore Zseth, I asked a simple question in guild chat and he went absolutely apeshit on me.

I too skip collection quests when multiboxing, I just can't stand them. In fact, I'm avoiding questing alltogether if possible. I'll only do quests if I think they will be quick, but Questhelper mod helps with questing ALOT! So if you don't have that, try picking it up because it made questing for me much more enjoyable.

The secret to always having quests is to do two starting areas. For my draenei, I went to Elwynn/Westfall as soon as possible, then went back to Bloodmyst. It makes everything so much easier. I was skipping most gather quests, and anything that seemed vaguely annoying, yet my quest log was still packed full all the way to 60 and beyond. At lvl 46, I was still working through a huge backlog of quests in Tanaris, Searing Gorge, Feralas, Hinterlands, and doing a couple of ZF runs.

I disagree about silithus it is well worth a look imo. There are not a huge amount of quests that are worthwhile but if you do the good ones you can get great xp with very little time invested.

avoid silithus like the plague, it should only be a last resort zone on your way to 58. Collection quests there have some of the most notoriously low drop rates and in general its true, lots of running/backtracking. The zone was pretty much set up as a huge timesink for endgamers pre-Naxx and to that end, its great. for the casual passer-through, it is just a waste of time really.

I've found that if I can save searing gorge to 47-48 that helps get me thru those dry times.

If you do tanaris/Felwood/Hinterlands you should be right around 47ish when you finish them. Check the various instance guilds out there for all the instance quests for ZF/ST. Post 2.3 the experience for these are just insane. Also, depending on what kind of boosting you can do BRD is good experience at the high 40's.

I know boring but... Un'Goro and Silithus?Yeah I picked up like 5 Quests at 48 in Un'Goro but they were red and I really did not want to have to sit and drink after every mob, so I wanted to wait until 50.

You should've run ZF in the mid-40s :p Clear Tanaris too if you haven't, except for that Gahzridian quest...hard enough to collect on one char let alone boxers lolKeep in mind that you only need one of your chars to have the mallet to summon Gahz and complete the quest - plus, since 2.3 (i think it was this patch) this quest chain is alot easier since the mobs are no longer elite.

It's strange how 2 ppl can have such differing opinions about the same thing. I literally have just done silithus again for the 3rd time and it was still good :) (i mean since i made the first post on this thread and now). Hit the quests I wanted and got 55k xp per hour. If that is what you think should be avoided like the plague then why don't you post us some tips about how you get way more xp per hour than that?
You did mention collection quests tho so hmmm...are you doing it properly?

I will continue to go apeshit on you for such. why people ask questions that have been asked repeatedly is mind boggling.

And to reiterate, when you skip collection quests you miss out on important quest chains that open up other quests, guess what? Its the same thing in Outlands, it doesn't end. So just do them and drive on, I still hit 70 in under 10 days played time with 300+ tailoring on each guy.

i just dinged 48 inside ZF.. still have to go back to finish troll temper and kill Gahz. I still have 7 quests in Tan..not sure how some of you ran out of quests. did you do STV/Feralis/Hinter/ the new quests in theramore area ?

Actually Zseth brings up a good point - you should always look at the whole quest chain before deciding to dump a quest. There are some great quest chains that start with a collection quest, but end up with either great exp or a nice reward.

Cheers,

40-50 was for sure the slowes lvls for me aswell.. But now that you hit 50 make sure you pick up the onyxia quest line in burning stepps. I did it all up to the part where you have to go and kill drakki and that was more then 2 lvls itselfs. So dont miss out on that.. some of those quests gives up to 19k xp each.. and they are really simple, just traveling and talking most of them. GL :P

Not really. There is a little stone wall area southeast (I think it's SE, anyway) of the dunemaul ogre compound that has a TON of the stuff plus ogres to kill while you wait for the Gahz respawns. I didn't know about it until after taking a few alts through Tanaris and I was so ticked.

Go figure.

Yep, I love me that dunemaul ruins compound (though there are actually 2 fairly close together). Realy quick spawning gahzridian peices, plenty of easy ogres for xp while you wait and it's a great place to farm mageweave as around 90% of the ogres will drop 1-3 peices per kill.
