View Full Version : How do you loot while boxing ?

I'm using free for all.

The problem I have found is that trade skill recipes that are Bind on Pickup can only be seen by characters that have the relevant trade skill.

Are there any addons to help with loot ?

It would be ok if you could do Master Looter and set the threshold to grey items (think you used to be able to ?) but that doesn't seem an option. Seems the only options are either free for all, where you will inevitably miss some of these BoP recipes, or a combination of round robin, which is a royal pain.

:| there's no good way I know of. I really, really wish they would bind looting to a single key with a toggle for bop\boe gobbling.

I think I just saw this thread?

The only real way to loot is to have easily accessible mice. Dark Age of Camelot has fully automated looting, going back to WoW I felt spoiled, just a bit.

It's not as bad if you have 1-2 copies running per machine, but I'm planning on running 1 on 1 machine, and 3-4 on the other machine (still not decided on using the 3rd PC) with 1 maximised, the others minimized, that's going to be a pain to minimize/maximize as I need em :/

I play with all my screens up and mouse through them with multiplicity (great prog) but even with full screens there's no way I'm checking every one for sparklies. My only advice would be to switch your primary character to the tradeskill one when you're specifically going for the tradeskill recipe on. Part of multiboxing is missing out on loot :\

I also use FFA and just trade and move stuff to one of the alts when the main's bags are full. Using CTmailmod you can ALT-leftclick an item into the trade window, and having /script AcceptTrade{} on the same action bar slot in the non-combat bar for all characters makes that a breeze.

I am wondering about writing a mod that uses a different, smarter looting system. In a nutshell, using ML instead of FFA, setting the quality to the lowest setting and then have the add-on assign the loot items to a character in your party depending on a preset category. I.e. cloth, char4, grey/white vendor trash char 5, greens char 3, blue/epic main char and so on and so forth.

You can set master looter to greys, can't remember the command, but it is possible.

Does this work for coins/money that's looted?

no, they are always spread evenly.

no, they are always spread evenly.

What I meant is, can the Master Looter always loot coins on that setting? :)

Ah, yeah they'll be able to see them.
