Hello sirs, I am planning a new tri-box and would be interested in input as to how best to accomplish my goals. My previous experience is with dual boxing a priest\lock combo.

Goals: To create a tri-box that is fun to pvp with and capable of farming large amounts of gold

My first question is of course, what to farm and the second is what class makeup will be the most effective at farming that commodity.

My personal preference is for three of the same class. While I enjoyed the synergy of the lock\priest combo, I don't like the added difficulty of playing two separate classes and would like to limit it to a single class. I would also like to avoid warlocks, as I am bored of them.

This limits my potential matrixes to:

3 druids (moonkin)
3 hunters
3 elemental shaman
3 mages

of the three, conventional wisdom tells me the hunters will be the most effective at farming, but I have dualboxed hunters and found the process to be pretty damn boring, and get chewed up melee in the dead zone. Also I'd hate to have hunters dying to dots, then having to operate at reduced efficiency until the next res. I also dislike the micro of ammo\pet food.

The three druids seem like they would be pretty powerful with decent gear and have quite a bit of cc, but I feel like I'd be drinking often, and shifting out a lot to heal. Three cyclones seems pretty damn awesome. Druids are a royal pain to level however.

I like the elemental shaman for their ability to heal without changing forms, but again am hit with the constant need for drinking.

The three mages seem like an okay balance, but mages are so damn flimsy, I'd hate to be constantly losing one. The iceblocking is a nice touch, but I wonder how effective this group would be compared to the others.

So far I don't have a real strong lean in any particular direction.

Now what to farm? I'd need an area where spawns were very rapid, or numerous, and would get extremely bored if there weren't quite a few of the opposite faction streaming through. I've previously farmed pages in silithus and tomes at the be towers in netherstorm for cash, but both of those are obsolete at this point.

Thanks for any info!

farming large amounts of gold in an automated manner.

I'll start the ball rolling by telling you that I beleive you are in entirely the wrong place to ask this sort of question.

We (the multibox community and specifically this site) do not condone, support or encourage any form of unattended play and any sort of discussion in that direction on these forums is enormously damaging for those of us who multibox within the rules.

I'll leave others to comment on the more substantive parts of your post - given your stated aim, I am disinclined to do so myself.

Unless I misunderstand you and by automated means you mean "really easy to farm" and not "afk while a program does it for me" - but I am not so sure you meant the former.

My official stance (and unofficial one as well) is that trying to automate gameplay will more than likely get you banned from WoW. There are ways to do it but the effort hardly seems worth the investment. We box here for fun and as a hobby and these forums are not the place to discuss automated game play or botting of any kind.

So if you are going to do it - don't come here and ask for advice. Take it to WoWGlider or wherever else you wish.

Have edited post to be in compliance with your statement. The main thrust of my automation was a desire to avoid re-levelling (once is enough, this would be #5,6,7), and after consideration I have decided to go all-manual after 60, as at that point the time investment will make automation an unwise prospect.

I have decided to go with moonkin druids, mainly because I think that will be a hillarious combo. The combination of stealth, high armor, and most of all, dumb-looking moonkin seals the deal for me. Also a fan of the free normal flight form.

Plus you could multibox seal form. Nobody has ever done that and I suspect the universe may implode if said acts are performed.

I find it disturbing that you encourage such behaviour ^^

Plan to include at least one triple sealform kill in the video. The ignomy!

After mulling it over, I'm going to go for 5 druids. The lure of being able to do my own instances while levelling is just too great.

5 druids will be a royal pain in he arse . the res on a cooldown timer as well as the whole melee and casting problem might prove to be difficult.

there are many videos out of Xbox the 5 ele shaman group kicking arse from pvping to heroic's .

nothing beats 5x chain lightings , anks , res as well as the vast ammount of totems .

I would love to see druids. I don't think it is the best choice but I would love to see it.

A few things really sell me on the 5 druid combo, one is the ability to completely run your own instances (in the traditional fashion) which could ultimately do heroics that the 5 shaman combo can't. Then there's the stealth, for someone like me whose primary goal is world pvp, nothing beats having five people come out of nowhere and blast you with 4k starfires, nothing.

Also druid scaling is kind of neat, if you went for a totally balance based lineup you'd have 30 seconds out of every 3 minutes with 15 trees wailing on your happless opponent.

While ultimately I think your 5 shaman or a 5 mage group is stronger for battleground pvp, I think the 5 druid group can go further in solo pve and the thought of 5 druids stealthing up to someone and then all shredding them at once, having 5 cyclones and roots, and 15 trees, is quite appealing to me.

5 mages is strong, if you ignore their need for heals :)
