So you've got your FOTM Shaman multi-box team up to level 60, and you've finally hit Outlands! Time to ditch that POS Azeroth crap and get some new shinies...

This guide is designed to get upgrade your gear in the shortest time possible, with the aim being to set you up to do the instances sooner. In most cases this will result in a substantial upgrade to Stam, Int, Spell Damage and Spell Crit.

Now onto the guide...I have split the guide into three sections, roughly based on the ease of the quests to get the item, number of quests needed to complete, type of quest, and difficulty of mobs. I have also noted where quest involved is a gathering one.

These mobs have a chance to drop Drain Schematics, clicking on them will start the next quest. There's no cooldown on the seeds, to use them to keep spawning Overseer mobs until the Drain Schematics drop.

Wacth out for the adds spawned when the mob gets low on health (Raging Colossus also have this annoying ability). Chain Lightning and Fire Nova Totems work well here.

It's horde only, but there are some quests that are shared between factions. Will update it today... :)

Ok I've noted where the quest is available to both factions, otherwise its Horde only. A lot of the gear from the Horde only quests is available to alliance too, but just with a different series of quests.

If I get time I will compile a similar list for Alliance quests.

Well, I've also been doing a fair bit of thinking about this too. Long, but hopefully helpful post incoming:

http://www.maxdps.com/shaman/elemental.php is your friend. I've used this to plan out a crafted/PvP/Badge only setup which will be my goal after hitting 70.

I plan on the following, DPS stats in brackets based on maxdps data (default settings for stats), which is based mostly around putting spell dmg gems in sockets whenever possible. The aim being to max out their DPS from a PvE pov 1st, then build up more resilience gear for PvP later, then finally move onto arenas when I think I'm ready. The choices I have made are based on gear available through questing, crafting, PvP and Rep, and make little reliance on drops (exception being for belt, and a couple of common world drops, but you'll see why).

Shoulders:

1) Gladiators (40.99) - PvP
2) Pauldrons of the Furious elements (50.23) - 60 Badges

Neck:

1) Natasha's Ember Necklace (24.19) - Quest
2) Vindicator's Pendant of Conquest (31.37) - PvP

Chest:

1) Gladiators (49.17) - PvP
2) Netherstrike (55.62) - Crafted BoP
3) Hauberk of the Furious Elements (70.15) - 75 Badges

Wrist:

1) Auchenai Bracers (7.76) - Quest

NOTES:

- Data is based on alliance, haven't done any horde studies yet, but most will be the same.
- Also note that the Netherstrike set bonuses do not appear to be taken into account on the site, so including bonuses they may well push up the list (not done the theorycrafting on this yet).
- This list is based on DPS only, and might make you a bit squishy, I haven't started collecting any of it, but its a template to work towards. My main concern atm is that my Pally wont be able to keep aggro off the shammies if I get even half of it :D
- DPS figures stated can be improved upon with JC BoP gems, PvP unique equipped gems or if you are lucky enough to have access to them, BT/MH Epic gems.
- In many cases, the Merciless and Vengeful gear is even better DPS than the bagde stuff, but you can look those up for yourself, that isn't my initial aim.
- The only non mail item I've considered so far is the Kurenai kilt, but you can also considerably up your DPS by going for cloth and somtimes leather items too, but this ofc ups your squishyness.

Well in 2.4, you can buy faction based purples in the caliber of S1 gear without honor grinding, but dungeon grinding instead:

I will be expanding this guide when I hit higher levels (my shammies are at lvl 61 now). The plan will be to split it into level ranges, so that you'll know where the best gear for your level is. I figured it would be better to post what I had so far, since I think this info is still pretty handy! :)

For the belt you could always use cloth or leather with spell damage, i doubt the loss in armor would kill you =P

Great guide! Small correction: You can do the bombing run quests as a group, just fly at the same time and bomb from one toon. Hitting the target(s) will complete on all toons, so long as they are within range.

The only thing better outside 25mans is the Vengeful, and the Merciless requires arena, so not on this list.

Its funny, I recently performed the same study to determine my itemization goals when I hit 70 with my Shaman team. MaxDPS does have info on 1h + shield, but you have to select that option, it defaults to 2handers.

Weapons:
1) Gavel of Unearthed Secrets (109.4) - Rep - LC Exhaulted
2) Merciless Gladiators Spellblade (146.51) - 25.2k honor, 20 EotS Marks
3) Scryer's Blade of Focus (161.94) - 150 Badge of Justice

I'd get the LC Gavel first, since its a rep grind, and lower DPS, otherwise, skip it and go for #2 or #3 straight out.

Shields:
1) Draenei Honor Guard Shield (21.89) - World Drop, check your AH
2) Merciless Gladiator's Barrier (23.67)
3) Mazthoril Honor Shield (24.59)

Note - Bombing run quest, have to do indivually with each toon. Great guide! Small correction: You can do the bombing run quests as a group, just fly at the same time and bomb from one toon. Hitting the target(s) will complete on all toons, so long as they are within range.oh damn, where where you with this info several days ago :P
