Yup its looking good, esp. this part:
Call of Thunder: (Rank 5) now gives 5% critical strike chance.
Healing Grace: This talent now reduces the chance your spells will be dispelled by 10/20/30%.The resistance to being dispelled modifier from this talent now applies correctly to Water Breathing.
Looks like those patch notes posted earlier were fakes.

Nazan in Hellfire Citadel: Ramparts will no longer sometimes not land on the ground until after Vazruden the Herald is killed or Nazan is heavily damaged.
...no longer sometimes not land...
Can they make that sentence any more confusing?

Dungeon and Group Quest Experience: The amount of experience awarded for dungeon and 5-person group quests in Outland has been increased in almost all cases.
Yay!
Does this mean we will be getting more gold for 5-man quests if we are already 70?

They should have put this elsewhere and the rate should be higher, 30% is significant to 0, but for something as good as ES its not enough.

I am officially hyped for this patch, they took so many things about pvp that players were complaining about and fixed them. AV is going to be so much more fun with no diminishing returns.

I understand. I just don't feel as if losing an entire 1% of crit is "good". :(

=sigh= Yeah, my main is a shaman. I still love the class and enjoy playing it, but they don't seem very popular outside of multiboxing these days. :o

I dunno...those numbers have to be wrong cuz i see Shamen all over the effing place, in all 3 specs and in both raiding, pvp and arenas(Arenas are glorified duels so they don't count as real pvp ;p)
Heck we've got half a dozen shamen in DA alone of each spec(though one left for DC recently)...I don't see why it would be unpopular, it's just as powerful if not more powerful than most other classes and has good soloability...totems for every occasion, heals, shields, armor, ranged casting spells + instants as well as high melee dps without having to shift forms or respec to be useful at only 1-2 at a time like Druids lol

I am fortunate enough to play in a guild with friends, and they don't worry much about spec and gear and how efficient we are at doing stuff. So I've been able to play with all of the specs at different times (spent a lot of time pre-BC as elemental, was resto as we raided Karazhan, have been enhancement for a couple of months now). I really enjoy the class. I gave up reading the class forum on the WoW boards because it was just too depressing to see so many people complaining about a class that I find so much fun to play.
Then again I am definitely one of those people who takes the "it's a GAME, it's supposed to be FUN" approach all the way. I tend to take most changes, good or bad, with a grain of salt and just adapt. They'd have to nerf the class pretty drastically to get me to stop having fun.
Heck we've got half a dozen shamen in DA alone of each spec(though one left for DC recently)...I don't see why it would be unpopularEnhancement isnt popular due to the lack of variety, stormstrike and earthshocking and totems and thats it,and if your getting attcked or going oom shamanistic rage, but otherwise thats it. Enhancement shamans often have to take hunter gear, str>agi for a shaman, so for many pve drops they often fill up with hunter stuff. In PVP there is a lack of survivability. Frostshock and earthbind are good snares but there not great. Really without a shield shamans drop like a sack of shit.
Restoration is popular however there are problems with them. Chainheal is powerful, but not spamable and its unique and its not always best for every situation. Shamans are always first to go oom, even after mana tide you will find priests and druids with there spirit castime regen and pallies with there crit heal regen ontop of there mp5 will stay in the fight much more longer whilst the shaman is chain potting. As for PVP spamming LHW and the issues with earthshield dispelling by many classes will always be an ongoing problem and the dispell changes this patch help but i dont think its the right way to go about it.
As for elemental, well tbh ive only had levelling practice with my 4 shamans here and I cant tell you why its not popular where in the other cases ive spent plenty of time at 70 with the other specs. Elemental is the only viable shaman spec you see in high end arenas and they do bring decient raid dps and buffs for a caster group.
But shamans are the jack of all trades just at the moment even with deep specialising they just arent as competitive as there counter-classes.
Its only the multiboxing community keeping the shaman alive! :)

Chainheal is powerful, but not spamable and its unique and its not always best for every situation.
Its not? I'm going to have to tell my Shaman to stop spamming it, since apparently its not spammable. :P
(hint - it is spamable, I've got a screenshot at home of 12+ shaman spamming a single player in IF with chainheal...)Okok let me rephrase, in PVE encounters if you find yourself casting just after your other cast is finished you will find yourself out of mana quickly not as mana effective as our other healers.

Blizzard fails for shamans yet again. I feel sorry for enhancement lovers.

Yeah but remember you need to achieve a certain level of +healing before downranking really becomes effective...

Also, that applies to all healers, not shaman only, quit yer class-based QQing :p HT's max rank atm is 13, I use rank 8 and 10 tons to save on mana while still achieving a good heal.

Which was confirmed to be a bug; not intended functionality. The way I read that was that it was going to give 5% melee crit chance now, as well as the 5% to LB and chain lightning. Bleh for nerfs. :(

Well, adding 5% melee crit to it would be nice for enhance shamans who prefer "suicide spec" (ie, 16/45/0 instead of 0/45/16). It would make an ehancement/elemental spec pretty darn interesting. Trading off 3% to hit for 5% crit is a tough choice though.

it would increase the incidence of UR and Flurry which could lead enhancement Shammies back down the path of really unpredictable burst damage again.
Useless in PVE and with no counter CC, unable to engage in PVP... as an enh lover I will be once again in the worst of all worlds
(sorry,I will take the QQing to the shammy forums ;) )

I noticed something on the General & Test forums last night worth QQing about related to 2.4...they're nerfing DRINKING. Instead of "HIt key, sit, drink, regen same amt/3sec", it'll be "hit key, chug..wait...chug...4-6seconds later HAYREGENFINALLY...whysolittle?" or rather, "hit key, sit, hesitantly taste water, sip, sip sip...sip, still getting very little mana return at all...drink...drink for normal regen...CHUG CHUG CHUG OMG HGUE REGEN done"
Basically, they're making it so water IN GENERAL doesn't regen shit for the first quarter time of drinking because arena assholes were abusing it, giving you a lil normal regen then huge regen at the end so it still regens the same amount if you drink for the duration. This is fucking ridiculous for timed events like BM and ZA's timed event and topping off during raids as well as gauntlets like ZF temple, SH archer hall, and any fucking escort in the game.

If that's true, I think it is pretty lame. Drinking in PvP was not that abusive; it really isn't that easy to do it without getting interrupted. I feel like that change affects more than just raiding in PvE; as Eteocles said, everything from escorts to five-mans become a little more annoying.

At the moment I think that two of the blue lvl 70 PvP pieces (hands, shoulders?) require honored, and three pieces require revered. Each with a different faction.
The change to drinking will suck if it goes live, but I think Fur is right, that Blizz is working to get PvP in better shape, specifically arena PvP. It could be part of their desire to make it an "eSport".

I'm gonna go a lil wow forums for a sec...
"THEN FUCKING DISABLE WATER IN THE GODDAMN GLORIFIED DUELS YOU CALL ARENAS LIKE YOU DID WITH OTHER SKILLS! DONT FUCK WITH PVE WATER! Jesus fucking christ nerf the cause/problem area not the entire fucking thing."
Seriously....they already disabled specific items and skills in arena, why can't they disable the ability to eat/drink and leave what is currently balanced if not downright underpowered in pve alone? Mage Conjure Water doesn't even fill 75% mana at the level you GET it let alone the 10 lvls you're stuck with it till you get an upgrade at which point it's still not enough. God forbid trying to raid Hyjal where you only -get- 6 seconds to drink if that between trash waves, or escorts that keep running even though you just went oom on the FIRST of FOUR ambushes along the way, let alone the normal mobs in the way. Drink and fail or Continue Oom and fail. Thanks, blizz.
Thankfully, and rightfully so, most people are up in arms about this change, and with any luck it'll knock some fucking sense into Blizz. This is the first change that has been truly, unabashedly and outright stupid among alot of things people considered QQWorthy.
