View Full Version : Leveling Tatics
Iv got 4 shaman level 20
Im curious as how to level up the fastest.
Im new to the server so i have no high level freinds to run me through stuff. Questing is sooo boring. But will do i guess. Just seeing what you guys do out there for the good fast exp. Should i find myself a good tank and just pair up and do instances?

Pare up and do some instances. Quest in between. Or just solo the instance by your self. Might take a while but you can do it.

To the OP: I highly recommend instances. I'm the same kind of bored by questing, I like some action. I get almost a full level for a complete run through SFK at 20-24, and I don't end up watching my exp bar tick away. I end up surprised when one of my characters level!

Without a high level 70 to run you through instances, questing will generally be faster. 1-20 sucks though for all multiboxers.

1-20 sucks period, everything good comes at 20+ including instances lol(RFC doesn't count you horde bastards ;p)
I highly recommend questing in general; it's less boring than an instance grind, it keeps people aware of you as a lvler/quester and not as a farmer hopefully(I haven't had a single report yet that I know of and I interact with most alliance and horde both that I run into as I quest), it gives you high amounts of rep now(I think some of 'em gave me +500 Alliance rep, and now that EVERY Rep level gives you a discount of 5% each step it's nice :p To put it in perspective, my 50s have higher rep levels than my 70 does with pretty much every Alliance faction, and THE 70 HAS BEEN DOING SOME OF THE QUESTS WITH THEM. That both means it's only good near-level, and that the rep gain for quests I did do with the 70 as I lvl'd have improved since then.
It's also allowed me to find the Lunar Festival elders this week scattered out in my lvling areas, +75 Alliance rep each and +10k rep if you find 'em all lol; with 2.3's changes too it's simply too effective to ignore even if you're an instance grinder :p

Just do both. I do quests and instance runs. I was stcuk for a bit at lvl 28, then did some quests, got like 70k xp in no time and from lvl 30 it's going very rapid again.
Just kinda rushing at the moment to get my mounts so I aim for a level a day ... Not much but also got to work now and then. So far it's more like 1.5 level a day. Seen a few quests giving me 6k or more, not to mention the follow up quests in wich I sometimes got 22K for 30 minutes work.
Good luck and have fun :D

The first time going through, and a couple toons later, while most recommended stv at 28/29, I found I was really too low, or at least if I'd have been over 30, it would have been easier. This was the old system. Now xp is given at login :P But I found doing some quests out in like desolace or stonetalon mountains area helped bridge the gap. On one toon, fairly recently, I hadn't even had the stv flight path, and I was zooming past 40 and 50. So for those who hate STV, you can avoid it, desolace, and now theramore is a huge quest ring. 1000 needles has some that help level too. If you can get about 1/2 a level in instances, I think you'll come out ahead, depending on your loot policy. I think I'll prolly build up some rest and farm for a week on my mains, to help with mat grinding for my 5 team.
