I'm an old-time MMO player....been playing these types of games since EQ. I'm not new to dual-boxing but I am new to keyclone and key broadcasting. I've got my 2 mains 70 Hunter and 70 Shaman teaming up and I've got a weird problem.

Here's the setup:

1 PC, 2 WoW's running on seperate cores (I have a quad core system w/ 8800 GTX card) the hunter is main and the shaman is the drone / follower

The only thing running is keyclone and WoW (x2)

The strangest thing keeps happening and I can't figure it out. Sometimes, but not all the time, I'll get in combat, and my Shaman will simply go nuts! He'll start running in circles, or start walking backwards, or just take off running forwards and I can't get him to stop! The funniest thing is, he still says he's following my hunter! While walking backwards....AWAY from my hunter! ?( I try to get him to stop by hitting the 'BIG' button macro that includes: target focus, assist, follow, stopcasting and he'll turn and start to follow my hunter but then he'll go right on past him and I get 'You stop following'. The only way I seem to be able to get him to stop is to take direct control of him and jam the direction keys and jump up and down til he stops (and sometimes that doesn't work right away, at least once I've simply had to let him die when he aggro'd about 5 mobs by running right through them without stopping.

I've gone into Keyclone setup and set do-not-pass on just about any keys I can think of not directly related to macros and casting. I've unbound most of the Shamans keybindings, including NUMLOCK or anything I can see that relates to movement other than A-W-S-D.

Anybody know what the :cursing: is going on?

Thanks!

This is due to what we call "The RUn-aways"; there's a few threads on this already in various forums, but it boils down to this: When you press shift + Movement keys, or ANY key + movement keys, even if your movement keys are blacklisted/do-not-pass, it still passes them, but does not recognize you "letting go" of the key, and sends the alts running on that key/those keys indefinently until you press them again.

2 fixes: Hold shift/alt/whatever key you pressed and spam all 4 movement keys + strafe/turns, or add shift/alt/ctrl + movemnet keys and movement key + movement keys to your do not pass/blacklist.

No fix yet but I'm sure Keyclone's working on one if it's possible to be fixed.

Would this help you?

My Characters sometimes all run off in different directions when I use keyclone. Why?

http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/../forum/icon/quoteS.png Quoted

Keyclone
shift+WASD are still movement keys... and as such, will get passed as shift+WASD... but the up event can get lost, if you release the shift before the WASD... since WASD alone is not passed. In short pressing anykey + WASD will cause loss of characters. So add the key + WSAD to the DNP list. (Do Not Pass)

What are some Other Keys I can Add to the DNP List?
WASD Movement Keys
B Backpack
N Talents
M Map
L Quest Log
K Skills
I Looking For Group
O Friends
P Spellbook
U Reputation
H Honor
/ Brings up chat.
NUMLOCK Auto Run
V Name Plates
PrtScn This is a must if you like to take a lot of screenshots. All WoW windows will overlap one another in the pic and make things look messed up.
Shift + WASD
Alt + WASD
Ctrl + WASD
Anykey + WASD If you press other keys while pressing WASorD then add them to the list. your characters will not run off.

This is just the main ones. If you have other suggestions please reply.

That sounds about right it does seem to happen when I'm in combat right in the middle of high speed movements and jumping around...I strafe by using shift so I'll make sure that shift+WASD, ALT+WASD, CTRL+WASD are DNP. I must be holding down shift when I'm hitting S, which would explain why my Shaman starts walking backwards and I do tend to jam the keys when I'm in combat so it makes sense.

Thanks all, I'll post again once I know how this effects my play.
