Gear at lv 30

I am lv 30 with my 5 box team of a pally and 4 shamen. I am thinking of heading to SM GY to continue leveling and just noticed that there is very little good tanking gear there. I am kinda stuck wearing the same stuff I have now until I hit the Cathederal if I want any respectable mail.

Where did you all get tanking gear at lv 30 until you were able to hit the Cathederal ?

I believe I was using Thermaplugg's shield (final boss in Gnomeregan) with iron shield spike (would have been better to get mithril/thorium), the main Gnomeregan quest legs, the blue mid-20's blacksmithing chestpiece, some green stam/str shoulders from Gnomeregan, +defense cloak, green smithing boots and gloves, green drop belt & wrists. There's a lot of good shaman gear in SM:GY - in particular, the shroud from the rare Fallen Champion, and the off-hand from the main boss in the tomb. The other rares, Azshir & Rattlecage? also have a couple decent drops, but they're far more rare. The best part of the SM:GY is that there are no casters, the mobs don't hit hard, and they drop fairly quick. The paladin/shaman team is ideal for it - just use improved righteous fury with consecrate and magma totems, and watch everything drop QUICK, especially if you have 3/3 improved fire totems talent for +15% damage on the magma totems. It goes even faster once you hit chain lightning at 32.

My paladin is still using most of this gear, so Armory for Zandantilus on Laughing Skull to see what I've got. I'm still working through SM right now.
