Hello Dual-boxing.com community I've been lurking on this site for the past few weeks or so and have finally found the time to make an account and introduce myself properly. For starters I would like to congradulate all of you for what a strong and helpful community you have here from what I can tell you have a tight and well informed group of people here (a rareity in my experience).
Now for the boreing stuff, I've been playing WoW off and on since release mostly solo boxing and raiding on my hunter in classic, went to boot camp shorty after TBC hit (never got past kara), and finally played with a small group of freinds on my prot pally in WoTLK clearing up to but never past ICC. Had a breif affair with 5 boxing when RAF hit but never really commited to anything past lv65ish, mostly because I have a tendency with geting side tracked and makeing new teams every other day but I do have some experience with multiboxing. I plan to start 4 new accounts to add on to my prexisting account that has my old pally on it in about two months when I finally get home. Since I have some money saved up I'll be building a new computer to really kick things off right in the meantime i'm just reading htis site and the wiki to start makeing plans for my teams. At first I was really intrested in possibly transitioning into 10 boxing once I had two teams at 85 but from what I've read it's harder than it once was and soloing 10 man raids may not be possible so I've decided to switch my focus more on 5 man teams and primarly makeing movies and hopefully multiboxer raids. Since I'm living in Hawii I think reolling on a west coast server should allow me to play at peak hours after work but I'm not familiar with any so if anyone has suggestions they would be appriciated.

Wall of text aside I run into a few snags in starting this whole thing so I'll probally be asking for some advice before I over commite myself in the wrong direction but for now I'm just going to keep reading and do my reasearch helps me kill time these days anyway.

Smart choice. Stick to that plan as any serious raiding while 10 boxing is not possible due to fight mechanics in current content. Yes there are a few fights that are possible, but they are getting blocked by fights that are not possible.

Warcraft Realms has all sorts of server information. Here's US servers sorted by timezone

Since you're starting again with RAF, you'll probably want to level up several teams until RAF runs out so you have multiple options for endgame. Nothing sucks more than finding out you don't like the way your team is working and having to start over without RAF.

The Wiki doesn't get updated much these days, so be sure to look for the stickies for more up-to-date information. Specifically the macros, since the majority of the class specific macros in the Wiki is about using commas, which died with the launch of Cata. And there's been a lot of class changes which would alter the synergy of a lot of "standard" teams located in the Wiki, not to mention the way individual classes play altogether.

As for 10boxing, I don't know what's possible now but it didn't seem like much. As you said, you already have another set of accounts from before, you can always add them later if you get the urge, but it's better to start with 5 and know you can at least get somewhere than to spend time and money bringing up 10 only to hit an insurmountable wall. That sort of thing can sour you pretty fast.

I dont know what software you used in the past but i recommend isboxer.

Like Khatovar said, level up as many classes as you can while RAF is active. Even if you dont think youll ever play the class because blizzard is always messing with the game mechanics. Todays OP class can become a
POS any given Tuesday. I think its especially important in your case since you said you like to make new teams.

Link the accounts a-b-c-d-e. Level up a bunch of X*5 groups so you learn every class. Make five dks last since i onky takes a few hours to get them to 60 with raf. Then at 58 or 60 you can mix all the toons up and make a variety of teams to minimize the boredom of leveling. Skip instances until 60 and until the accts are full or raf is gone. If you burn out on 1-60 before raf expires you should be able to at least fill up accts a and b and possibly c and d depending on how many groups you leveled to 60. I enjoyed leveling to 60 because it was so fast and OP. With raf you know when you log in youre going to make significant progress by the time you log out. You wont kill three hours and only move half a level like the upper 70s. I also liked most of the 60-70 segment. 70-80 is horrible in my opinion and seems to take longer than any other segment. To me it at leat SEEMS to take longer than 1-60.

Finally, i would get to 60 before going to outlands. I took a couple groups to outlands at 58. Then when i mixed everything up, some had already done the beginning quests and ended up riding along while the rest of the team did them for the first time. Its best to have everyone eligible for the same quests at the same time. I found no benefit from going to outlands at 58. I believe there is a benefit from going to the wotlk zones at 68 or 69 but i did fine 58-60 in the original areas. There are so many quests for the upper 50s. Youncould always just get everyone to 58 instead of 60 but i dont know if your dks will be allowed to leave their starting area at 58. Mine were past 60 by the time i finished their starting area with RAF active.

Good luck and have fun. Ive been having lots of fun boxing - except right before raf ran out when it felt like a job trying to grind out missing classes.

ADDED:
Starting over, heres the order i would level classes to 60:
Warlocks (helps speed up later teams with summons)
Mages (helps speed up later teams with portals)
Druids (can dps, tank, heal - nice if you are already about to burn out or raf is expiring - you can do 5mans solo now)
-at least get this far-
Paladins (can tank or heal - best boxer tank)
Priests (can dps or heal, best group healer)
Shaman (can dps or heal, cast or melee)
Warriors (tank or dps)
Hunters (ezmode mindless ranged dps)
Rogues (use raf levels, fill out empty spots on accts d and e with AH mules or pay to xfer 60s from acct A and grant up new ones on A)

INSERT ANYWHERE AFTER DRUIDS WHEN YOURE ABOUT TO GO INSANE OR RAF IS EXPIRING
Death knights (can tank or dps)

Thanks for all the advice I think I'll try the above method for leveling.
