Busted up s2k dirty here:

http://thefinalwebsite.com/images/s2k/PICT0008.JPG

Will be selling it this spring for a Carrera or Elise. Time to move on :) But I always get the urge to just go cheap and get a STI, but 4 doors is just too many for me. Heh.

I sold my pickup truck after I moved to Seattle in 2000... I have a little scooter I use to get to work and back (10 min ride), which costs me maybe 3$ in gas a week... but other than that I don't have a vehicle. Bus gets me most places for free, if I really need a car for something I either get a FlexCar (car-sharing program we have here) for a few hours or just hit up Enterprise and rent one for the weekend.
Pro tip: reserve a car with Enterprise (probably other places too) and they have to honor the rental price you sign up for. So I always get the cheapest weekend deal available, which would generally put you in something like a Geo Metro... But figure out when their lot is low on vehicles, like, late on Friday afternoon. Then when you go to pick it up and all they have is premium vehicles, you get whatever they have available for the same price! They'll try to upsell you but just say no thanks... they have to give you a vehicle and you still pay the same price. I've driven Jaguars, Escalades, Chrysler 300's... for the 20$ a day tin-can-on-wheels rate.

Costs FAR less than paying for parking, insurance, maintenance, license tabs, etc... literally saves me thousands per year.

S2k! Nice.. I have an '05 S2000 to go with my '06 350Z & '95 Eclipse GSX, although I'm planning on selling the Z. The S2k is a really fun car, and it's unfortunate that the manufacturers haven't come back around with more 2-door turbo AWD/RWD cars with style.. in the likes of the Supra, 3000GT, MR2, GT-Four, 90's AWD DSMs(Talon TSi/Eclipse GSX), 300ZX, RX7..
'93-'98 were the golden years of tuner cars.. hopefully they'll be back again.

Naturally aspirated cars with power are nice for the linear powerband, but the pure rate of torque acceleration (the difference in torque just before full boost and just after) of a turbo coming alive to all 4 wheels can't be matched with N/A or supercharged cars. I've seriously been considering building up a factory new OEM 2JZ-GTE block, head, & V160 transmission with a GT40 turbo and swapping that into the S2k. It's been done a few times before, but the pure thought of the combination of 550whp on 93 octane (over 700whp on 100 unleaded), full boost at 5k rpm with a 9.5k rpm redline, 6 tall gears, and a 2900lb convertible chassis.. mmmmmmmm.. need more traction! Manufacturer loyalty be damned.. I'd throw a Supra single turbo powertrain in an S2000 in a heartbeat.. now I just need the time, garage, and tools.

Yeah 2jz s2k's are insane. But complete engine swaps like that don't interest me that much for some reason. I used to have a 1993 Rx7, that thing was fast (had downpipe and exhaust). It was real fun when the turbos kicked it, it was the first turbo car I had ever owned. There of course are LS1 swaps for it, but I love the rotary much more. Sadly I had to get rid of it since insurance was killing me (also had the s2k at the time).

The s2k feels so weak compared to that car. Which is the main reason I'm getting rid of it, damn that Rx7!

I love the light chassis and aerodynamics of the RX7, but I'm not much of a fan of rotaries. The RX8 failed in my test drive back when I purchased the 350Z - the 8 had NO feeling of torque, and the S2k's VTEC feels like afterburners kicking in compared to the RX8's dismal performance. However, minus the color, I AM a fan of this:
http://www.sp-power.com/projectcar_supra7.htm

Coming from a stock Grand Touring 350Z and a 400awhp GSX, the S2000 doesn't have much power. But it more than makes up for it with fun - I imagine that only an Elise would top it for a small convertible.. good choice there. I just miss the old school turbos. I came so close to buying a bone stock '94 Supra Turbo (yes, incredibly rare in stock form) about two months ago, but the seller backed out after we had agreed to the deal. I wasn't going to be an ass and demand he sell the car though, so I told him to keep it. I know my way around a shop, and have worked on development and building some indy-style cars using 600cc motorcycle engines, so my next big project will probably be to build a car from the ground up. Most likely 2JZ-GTE powered (LOVE the inline 6 layout), with a V160 transmission going to a BMW AWD transaxle.. still researching front and rear differentials, but basically it'll be a 550whp AWD 2-seat targa sports car. Supra powered engine/tranmission, garrett turbo, all-wheel drive, 2 doors, and the size of an Elise. Well, with a longer hood to fit that I6+tranny+transaxle+differential combo within the length of the car. As for the look.. think TVR Speed 6.. as in, the small sports car in the movie Swordfish. :)

Grats on the new ride... i owned a '03 evo for about 2 years, gooooood times good times. Nothing gets the blood pumping more than cornering in those babies!... that is untill you run over a chunk of plywood someone left in the intersection that you didnt see... have your rear-end come around 80 degrees... downshift to slow yourself down..... which spools your turbo up into its powerband.... "ease" back onto the gas to straighten yourself out..... break all 4 tires loose again.... and hop a curb while sliding sideways 4" away from a high power transmission line... yea thatll get your blood pumpin too....

oh... btw keep full coverage on that baby even if its paid off... the Break Calipers alone cost over 1k each :) ....

it was never realy an alaska car anyways :)

LOL, Yeah I got it with 15 miles on it from a stealership that somehow had no IDEA they had one left. I called 27 dealerships across the US in MAY. June 8th it got up here. I only have 3k miles on it so far. I haven't done a lot to it. I put a Tanabe racing full system on it, Injen CAI, with the upper and lower Inner cooler piping, Turbo timer. Manual Boost Controller. That is all that I have into the car currently. I am looking to purchase a Meth kit but I really dont like the options that are out there. What I want is a fully controllable from the inside sprayer. There are a few that claim its fully controllable but looking into them I have found they dont do what they claim.

I also am looking into twin scroll turbos and of course a new manifold.

Well this is my IRL epic mount: :P

It's a HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) Clubsport. HSV is basically a high-performance spin off Holden (GM for the guys in the US).

Basic specs on the car:

Engine: 307 kW, 6.0 litre LS2 Gen 4 alloy V8

Brakes: 365mm ventilated discs. Four piston calipers.

Wheels: 20" Chrome Shadow alloy rims (rollin on dubs yeah baby!)

The car has also had some modifcations done to it - twin turbos (cuz a 6 litre V8 just wasn't fast enough! :D ), custom fuel system, twin 3" stainless steel exhaust and a few other bits n pieces. At the moment its putting 330 RWKW over 1000NM of torque on a conservative tune and 10PSI (it's my daily driver), and let me tell you, this car is an absolute blast to drive! It will be going in for a more agressive tune @12PSI some time in the next few months.

Here's some pics:

Mmm....shiny!

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j187/hsvzclubbie/DSCF2265.jpg

Engine bay - you can see the boost controller & guage on the right.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j187/hsvzclubbie/DSCF2268.jpg

The twin turbos are mounted underside of the car just behind the engine.

http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j187/hsvzclubbie/DSCF2264.jpg

Interior shot...boost controller sits in the centre console compartment (under the stereo), hidden when compartment closed.

Cheers,

Stealthy

Nothing special, but its my 2003 Mitsi Lancer.

If i knew of a reliable mechanic who was within 100km I'd buy a rotary however.

All that power and a speed limit of 65 mph tops?
/sobs.

It's already tough for me coping with the 120km/h speed limit in Belgium, but at 65mph I think I would just doze off. =]

Maaaaaaan wtf nice cars oO

I sold my car a year ago but that one too was kinda special:

Mazda 323 BF Turbo 4x4 Rally car 8) No one knew about it where I live and thus I could suprise people. Did use it for streetracing(pretty big seen here in Holland) and the car was just insane. It was modified for more power from the turbo and went like crazy. It was build in 1987, old, but it had powered steering, eletrical windows, electrical sunroof and last but not least: hight control 8) If I would race in mud I'd just set the car 5cm higher making it look like a jeep. The car was far more luxerious then most modern cars, atleast cars from 1996.

But looking at the pics in this thread ..... Man ....  I love that HSV car oO!! and the evo's and subs ofc 8)
