Hey guys,

Seems like most WH spaces are occupied at the moment and we could be looking at a 0.0 home. Now, I don't think any of my toons are quite ready for a journey to 0.0 (don't think they'd survive low-sec! Lol). If we're going to do this, I think we need to assign roles so us 'noobs' can train up to be as effective/useful in as short ammount of time possible.

What I'm getting at is, someone needs to take the lead and say that 'this is what we need, this is the skills required, who wants to accept'.

May make it a bit easier for us to feel like we can actually contribute and not need to be babysat.

Just a thought as to how to make the venture profitable asap.....

Probably a load of garbage in this post :), but just trying to get a bit of organisation going

Just hang tight Grondir. Keep training for WH stuff. No one likes the idea of 0.0 rent, it's just a potential option if we cant find a worthwhile WH to inhabit. This is not going to be an overnight process being that we have to find one and then prep to get in and then move everyone in/setup POS, etc. Have patience young padawan :)

Ah I'm glad we're not going to give up at the first hurdle. I'll try to scan down some wormholes as and when I get the chance. Is there a way to determine what's on the other side just from the signature? I'm still very new to wormholes

I try to be patient, but it's not a strong point lol. I know it's not going to be an overnight thing. All I would like is for someone to say "Grond, train x of your accounts so you can do this, y for this and z for this"; I like to have things planned out so I don't waste time training things I won't need (like I probably already have :))

No, you have to jump through them to see what's there. Here's some probing advice:

ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS bookmark both sides of every wormhole. If you jump into wormhole space and forget to bookmark the spot and warp off then you'll be scanning down another exit, and depending on the hole there may be a lot of locations to scan through to find your way out again.

If you jump into wormhole that has a gate camp DO NOT MOVE. You have a 30 second timer while invis. Just target the wormhole and start spamming the jump button.

ALWAYS have a cloak and preferably be in a cov ops. If you want to do any scanning in a system first cloak, then warp to a planet at 100km, start moving, uncloak, pop 5 probes out, recloak, and then scan.

After jumping into a wormhole hit the directional scan at max range 360 degrees. This will usually tell you if there is a POS (unless the system is really big).

After you jump in note the name (Jxxxxxx) and go here and search for it: http://evemaps.dotlan.net/system/J205004 That will tell you activity in the past few days.

Never jump to a newly probed wormhole at 0m. Jump there cloaked at 100km and look for a gate camp first.

I read this and sort of laughed. I mean, I'm in hi-sec, what could be the harm. Well I scanned down a hole, and just to safe I warped in cloaked. Interesting enough, there is a ship sitting there. Now I don't know if he just scanned it down as well, though I doubt he did considering he is in an Ishkur, but chances are pretty good he has friends on the other side.

[a few minutes later]

Now I know he had friends on the inside. He entered the hole and not more than 60 seconds later it collapsed. Not sure how they time it that well, but I'm pretty sure that hole was occupied.

Moral of the story, it never hurts to be sneaky and cloaked. You get to see some interesting things.

Like the Prorator that showed up a minute after collapse ;)

On a side note, Wormholes named K162 are were created from the other side, correct? I.e. if you scan it down and it's K162, someone else has already come through from the other side, correct?

Name: K162
Destination: Unknown - exit point of a wormhole that has been used by someone originating from the other side, therefore more details can no longer be determined from this side

No, you have to jump through them to see what's there.

Bother. I don't want to risk any of my characters skilled with probing as they've got +5 implants and they're a bit pricy to replace. Going to have to skill up a new alt with probing skills and cheap implants. This may take a little while...

Or train up Jump Clones and have him jump into a body with cheaper implants in

And get a rep of 8.0 to be allowed to install a jump clone.

Or know someone with a Rorq.

Now who do I know with a Rorqual or a Mothership? Anyone?

I'm lurking here aswell btw. Whatever we're gonna do, count me in.
2 newb characters with about 2mil and 1,5mil SP's. Both miners. 1 with PI.

I don't really have any experience in WH's, besides trying to kill some lurkers and losing my Myr. (got refunded by CEO though) I've read tons of info, so I think i got a pretty good idea overall of what things are.

It will take me 6 days to get a Rorq, but you'll have to meet me in whatever dead end low sec system I buy it in, which could be tricky depending on the time of day.

And Motherships can no longer fit them, only Rorq and Titans.

The other option is to join my corp for all of 15 minutes and get jump clones from Cadari Navy. They really like us and have made clones for us in the past. Ammatar Fleet will also make them for my corp. I have great standings on this corp.

Could it be worth someone with a bit more knowledge putting a post up on official forums requesting a C3 wormhole to buy.... Or would we end up getting a scammer/pirate corp?

I think we need to try for ourselves for a week or two first, but if we've had no luck after a certain amount of time then we should consider asking around.
