First post obviously. I've been a dual boxer before, EQ, EQ2 among others but I never got around to doing it in WoW. A friend of mine turned me on to keyclone so I figured I would get started.

I had two personal accounts to use and instead of buying two new ones I used friends accounts who quit back in '04-'05, accounts I have been using off and on personally since then. I started I think on the 14th of January. This morning when I logged off I was about 20% away from 68, 4 Shamans horde Kil'Jaedin.

I get back later today to hear in IRC from the two guys I borrowed accounts from that they had received emails suggesting that those accounts were being shared. As a precaution the passwords had been reset and further action was threatened if the accounts continued to be shared. I'm pretty frustrated. Obviously not forking out for 2 new battle chests is biting me in the ass here but losing those two characters is a huge kick in the ass. I won't turn this into a vent about Blizzards greedy business practices regarding account sharing.

Word of advice, under no circumstances should you multi-box with someone else's account, even if you have been the unofficial owner of it for years. Being that you are high profile by what you are doing and plenty of drooling retards will report you for "OMG UR HAXING UR CHARZ ARE ALL TEH SAME". Now, the GM's may know immediately that you are multi-boxing but if they check the accounts they are going to see they belong to different people.

So now I am sitting here debating whether or not I want to level up 2 new shamans all over again.

Sorry to hear that... hope this is a big warning to the rest of you out there who may be sharing accounts, though... it's been brought up a few times.

Well, only thing to do is pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get some accounts in your own name and start leveling again :)

Sorry to hear that. It is quite the loss, but I'd stick with it and get another couple shammies up again. Might have to take a little break to get over the frustration, but it'll be worth it in the end :)

I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me & I was the original owner,, just got cute with the naming when I created the account (Split the account name in half for 1st & last names) & used a bogus email.

Rough lesson, but still a lesson learned. Others doing the same should take note, if the accounts are not in your name, you can/will have issues eventually.

I just took it in, & went out & bought a fresh copy of the battle chest & started over.

Yeah, I still have 5 EQ accounts.
I don't know what to do with them ;)

Sorry about your loss. I don't understand why Blizzard cares about account sharing as long as there is no dispute and someone is paying for the accounts *boggle*

I used to work on an MMO and we were not so bullheaded about stupid things like this.
Blizzard is really a messed up company from what I've heard from people internally.
Hopefully, they'll realize this one day *shrug*

Good luck!
