PvP join as group

Hey. not new to boxing (been almost a year now :D ) but new to pvp i guess.
I dont normally pvp but i suffered the burn out trying to gain rep in only the 3 normal cata instances that alow rep (dont stand a chance in heroics right now)
Im also burnt out with questing and the thought of doing northrend for the 4th time this year gives me shivers

So i went into pvp solo for the last couple weeks and been having alot of fun and has been a great change from constant questing and instances.
So time to ad in another toon or two. going 3 max until im good enough to possibly ad the other two

Problem is when i select join as group the main toon just goes into a battleground solo, when i get the other to join they end up in another team.
How exactly am i supposed to get in these as one team? i thought 'join as group' was well, joining as a group :/

Ive looked around and what i find is that you have to whisp the leader to place you all in the same team, is this really the only way to do it, seems a bit of a carry on and wasting time.

What is the reason for whanting them in the same group? You know that with grid + custom frames u can get the healthbars for only Your team if thats what u whant. If its a case of getting into same group, try waiting untill there is like 10-15 seconds left on the queue pop then join.

I have seen something like this before on my team. I think its just a addon error or something as it went away when I did a reinstall of my OS when I did an update on my processor. wish I had better info for you on this. GL

Read your post wrong.

Not sure why your toons would not join as a group.
Verify it is not an addon.
Disable all your addons, and try to enter as a group.
Be sure you're grouped when you do this.

If it works...
Enable the top half of the addons.
To learn which half of your addons the issue is in.
Then enable/disable half of the portion the issue is in.

If it doesn't work.
Try deleting your Cache folder

Possibly rename your WTF folder after that.
Which is all your saved variables.
You'll ideally want to restore most of those, so don't delete it.

You could try the repair utility.
Not sure if that would find anything.

I believe the OP is referring to the fact that when you join a battleground all your characters are not in the same "group" like when you're grouped in the world at large. Lol bad english is bad?

You cant force your toons to end up in the same group in battlegrounds unless you do rated battlegrounds with a complete raidgroup. The best chance to have them in one group is to join the BG as late as possible. I usually join BGs in the last 3-5 seconds and most of the time 4 toons end up in group 8 and one in group 7 (I do AV most of the time).

Grid and Custom Layouts, can display your toons together.
This will place your toons in Column one always.
And the rest of the raid in columns two through eight.
With an alphabetical sort on the whole thing, except that your five are the only ones in the left-most column.

ToonA,ToonB,ToonC,ToonD,ToonE;NAME
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8;5/8;NAME;NR


But if the raid leader says:
Groups 1-2: Galv > Backcap Stonehearth
Groups 3-4: Galv > IBT > Burn It > Frost Wolf Keep
Groups 5-6: Galv > TP > Burn It > Frost Wolf Keep
Groups 7-8: Reserve Hut & East/West Towers.

You cannot force your toons to be in the same group.

ops, thought you had issues where your whole team actually wasn't queuing for the bg or they weren't taking the party leader's battleground queue.

agree with you that it is a bit frustrating when I took my original pve setup into a battleground, but it also necessary and unavoidable from blizzards standpoint.

my bets are that you are having issues with @party# based macros for healing / cc breaks / or party leader targeting. If this is the case, look into focus assist targeting for dps and "targetexact" function for your assisting another toon. Hope this helps.

Ive always used Assist focus on all my macros
The alts dont do anything when there not in the same team

When i click join as group the option to enter pops up on my mains window. i accept and the main leaves the group to join the BG
Nothing happens on slave windows.
I will try disable addons see if that helps

Im using grid to monitor my team, not for healing yet as thats all macro'd on the razor naga (target focus) or (taget=alt name)


EDIT: Ok Disabled jamba on both systems and now they all join a BG :/ guess i messed up jamba setting somewhere.

Not sure what different, what im using is

isboxer/******** (using both to see what i prefer) but will prob stick with isboxer as ive started using 2 systems now.
Input director on both systems.
Macros all come from this site.

Im only boxing pvp solo or in 2 maybes 3 for now since im very new to pvp and have always ran tank-3dps-healer PVE
and being new, get alot of hate in there, even when your top of the table, winning and they are at the bottom they still complain.

Basically pvping to get used to it, its alot of fun and when im leveling other teams i want to be able to take my 5 in BGs for when questing gets boring.

If the team is grouped together.
And the party leader clicks the option, "Join as Party" (or might be Join as Group).

They won't necessarily be in the same party in the battleground.
But they should be in the same battleground.

From your initial post, I am unclear on what your issue is.
It implies your toons are in totally different battlegrounds.

Sorry,, what i was saying is that when i select 'join as group' the option only comes up on main window. when i select ok it puts me in waiting, nothing will pop up on the slave windows at all... When it is time for the BG to start it asks me to join, on main window only.. when i select ok it makes me leave the party i 'm in and loads me into a battleground.

Someone mentioned disable addond, so when i disabled jamba the option when clicking 'join as group' pops up for all windows and allows all to join the BG, being on the same team seems to be down to joining at the last second which doesnt always work and i didnt know this.
maybes i changed something in jamba setting to cause this.

So basically i assumed that the option 'join as group' actually makes us join as a group as in being on the same team like doing a dungeon. i also assumed you always have to be in the same team list otherwise my assist focus macros just dont work.

There has to be an addon conflict then.
I'm using Jamba, well half of the modules anyway, and am able to join as a group.

I would upgrade to the latest version of Jamba.
Start with that then.

Well after a few days messing about in settings it seems that having jamba on just wont work, reinstalled it, full update, (i use curse client to keep things up to date)
With jamba disabled i can get into all pvp minus TB and WG with join as group
TB and WG just doesnt let me in via join as group.

Started a new team so TB and WG wont be a problem anyways for now.. just going to have to disable jamba when they reach levels for pvp

Jamba is modular, so you could play with it a bit.
To see which module is in conflict with something else you have.

Possibly mention this in the Jamba thread.
As that is the best chance for a resolution, short of not using Jamba.
