Ok well im currently dual boxing on a really old pc, and am planning my upgrade to quin boxing, i was thinking it would be cheaper to run 5 accounts over 3 computers rather then 5, and faster then running 5 on one. The thing is, is this actually possiable? did some trolling and cant seem to see anyone running a similar setup (unless im being very, very stupid). Any ideas on making this realtivly easy to set up, or issues i might face would be greatly appreciated, and if its a stupid idea and i should just go and build 5 computers let me know now before i start buying stuff. :)

Hi CandyPants and welcome to the forums!

yes.. you can do 5 wows on 3 machines. this is my typical setup (2 laptops and a desktop).

you can use keyclone, one per machine, and connect the machines together using keyclone

My advice would be to figure out how you want to display your characters (monitor setup) and work backwards from there.

I plan on running 5 accounts on 1 new kick arse computer with 2 screens (main char on 1 screen and 4 alts on the other) to start with.

But I want to move over to 3 screens (main char on one screen in the middle and 2 alts on each of the screen on each side with the screen rotated 90deg to have them in portrait)
To do this I might run one of the screens on my old computer OR I might try to add a second graphics card on my new computer and run 3 screens from this, this should make the keyboard sharing easy.

This is almost exactly what i want to do

Having thought about it alot (and trawling various component websites, i have come to the conclusion that maybe one, much better computer is the way i want to go, still set on 3 moniters at least tho.... damn this is hard. lol
