How do you do the management of Horn of the winter buff? And other short duration buffs for your teams?

Hello ive noticed with my DK team that im having a hard time to have a good upkeep on my Horn of the winter buff during Bgs and while leveling.


How do you manage your short duration buffs on your toons? Announcments, addons ?

if you're on a mount and you choose follow the spell would knock you off.

make a 2 step key, first step cast horn of winter, 2nd step do nothing and hold on that step for 100 seconds.

Put this into your main dps macro

Well my toons dont dissmount, its prob because i dont have the setting in wow.

Edit: K you were right, i changed it to the dps key.

You could also use the combat option in your macro, this would keep you from dismounting unless you need the buff.

i have my horn of winter on my G key, since i always spam my g key for one thing or another (aoe heal on my pally) and horn on my dks i always press it in between things. just always be spamming it when its on cooldown, every 2 minutes or so

when I deathgrip someone, another DK casts Horn of Winter. Makes sure its always up.

It's on the GCD and only has a 20 seconds CD. So if it's cast too often you might be missing out on dps.

Sure thing :) it's only today that I had started to question the pro's and con's of blasting it off all the time. Maybe i'll just put it back in on CD.

The DK's have:
/castsequence reset=5 Horn of Winter,Null

On the same keybind, the Pally has:
/castsequence [@player] reset=5 Beacon of Light, Seal of Light, Blessing of Might, Null

I spam that key as my dismount key.
And periodically press it as well, things like just prior to pulling or Death Gripping, etc.
