I have just returned to WoW and multiboxing after nearly a year off. I just started a new team at level 1 to see the new Cata changes. I have spent the last week tweaking and poking my UI and keybinds to get myself ready for leveling.

Last night I logged in and found that my G13 profile had been corrupted, it was mixing my multiboxer and standard WoW profiles. For about 15 minutes I seriously considered walking away from the game again (the idea of sorting out what I had mapped in ISBoxer to the G13 to WoW is daunting).

As a multiboxer, what similar sort of failures have caused you to consider walking away?

Hmm..

Deleted all my macro's once. That sucked hard. Also failing hard in arena's is no fun. With Rift im having choppy gameplay with 4 clients open, i don't like to play it that way.

I once nuked the Dual-boxing.com MySQL database. Had this amazingly sinking feeling like a million voices cried out, and were silenced. I died a little inside.

Then I restored from a backup and never told anyone I did something dumb. (until now)

Hahaha :P

I remember this one time i added gametime to a 5th account, but it was the wrong one.

Didn't felt like i should quit but it was a waste of 13 euros :P

I remember this one time in AV i was attacking Konnichiwa (he used to play 5 draenei shammies back in the days) vs my orc shamans, i was quad boxing and he had 5 toons and he kicked my ass over and over again.

I was thinking something like: FUCK YOU MULTIBOXER and then i was like oh my god i'm one of those whining asswhipes that complain about multiboxers. Haha was funny though :)

Wowwwwwwww Svper!!!! I still <3 you though haha.

Arena's made me want to walk away a ton of times, I was so mean to my healers. I felt like I had to stay on top though and keep pushing hard. After Season 3 and 4 I took it easy.

Negraton, Cata looks good and I would but... RL hit me, having a baby and my fiancee gives me the evil stare when I reminisce the WoW days.

Aw ok, at least your movies is still there :)

Thinking about a composition like urs atm, but i only box 4. Would i be better of in going 4x Rets instead of 1DK and 3 Rets?

That's pretty good, from a boxer about a boxer...
I like it.

I screw the pooch on macros and such so often that mistakes like that don't even phase me anymore. :p

The main thing that makes me want to quit multiboxing a game is when they completely gut some mechanic or class that I'm having a ton of fun playing. Back in DAoC, I finally quit when Mythic gutted the Animist class.

I can definitely relate ughmahedhurtz on similar situations. I don't have anything specific but when you multibox a team around abilities that sync well and they then remove them, it makes me super sad inside. I've come to never bank on any set being able to withstand the change.

Yeah. I guess I should clarify that when I say "an ability I'm having a ton of fun playing" I do not mean "an exploit I found that I hope they don't fix." I'm talking about fun things that totally have zero bearing on the balance of the game or economy.

The baby or the stare?

I'm in the same boat, and both have changed my life :D
