So what have you guys learned about buffs so far? Do buffs stack?

Ive been looking at archon. I also have two bards. My other classes also have some group buffs.

What stacks (if anything) and what doesnt?

Wanted to start the discourse if anybody has any input.

I haven't played around much with the buffs with regards to stacking them, might try it out tonight though.

Having two Bards is nice because each can put up an anthem, I use the armor buff and the movement buff ( only two I have ) and it works well.

My Cleric has the most buffs due to all the self buffs plus picking up the two anthems and Fanfare of Vigor ( Endurance buff ). So far, that has been the extent of my experimentation, other than popping Motif of Bravery when in combat from my Bards which stack on the above buffs.

I haven't found any buffs that stack, with the exception of:
Buffs stating they have a Maximum Stack - These are typically only self-buffs as side-effect from other spells.
Heal Over Times.

**EDIT - I misinterpretted the question. As far as I can remember, I was able to have a Stamina Buff (casted) and a Stamina Scroll on at the same time, so it is possible other buffs from different classes that buff the same stat will stack.

Idk, seemed the Endurance scroll was cancelled out by my buff on my cleric. You sure about that?

Archon buffs have never been overwritten and I ran a few expert dungeons last night with 2 bards and the auras stacked with bard motifs/anthems. The Dex one came to mine because we specifically checked that.

That said, my warlock group endurance buff did not stack with clerics - but archon buffs seem to stack fine.

Ugh thats kind of what I was afraid of. Maybe when I get to 50 if its not done already ill have to start testing what works together and what doesnt since it doesnt seem consistent.

My two bards can each put up two diff motifs, so in big rifts I throw 4 motifs on the raid as well as my two fMnfares and two anthems (talented to work in combat).

2 bards can put up multiple motifs. You can cast one, then cast another immediately and both stay up. The restriction is that you can only have one of any type of motif from any bard. E.g. you can have the armor motif from bard a, the heal motif from bard b, the crit motif from bard a and the attack power motif from bard b.

I just set up a multiple step key map -- step 1 does 3 motifs (I run 3 bards) and step 2 does the 4th motif using bard 3. I assigned it to a click bar button which I just double click and get all 4 motifs every time.

I guess im more worried about different classes etc. Archon and bard both have a -10% ability cost aura. Lots of o different classes have endurance buffs, or str buffs, etc.

I was thinking of the Bard's Group Endurance Buff, but I could be mistaken.

The same buff is overwritten from different classes. When doing instances as a bard, I'll see a cleric give us the +endurance buff, and if I give the fanfare for buff, it'll overwrite his, and his will overwrite mine if he recasts. It's not horrible as most classes have enough buffs that you can switch it up.... ie.. Bards have fanfares and can only choose one per bard, so if someone is providing +endurance, then use the fanfare of power, etc.

Anthem of Fervor is a 1 hour buff - the archon equivalent isn't an aura it's a passive self buff based on how many auras you run - and they do stack on the Archon.

Things that I know Archon overwrites?

Earthen Barrage will overwrite any crit buffs even if they're longer duration since the buff is by far, the best crit buff in game, 30% crit for 8 seconds, 30 sec cd.
Burning Purpose overwrites other cast time reduction buffs.
Volcanic Bomb will overwrite more powerful spell damage buffs, which is a bug.
Shared Vigor will overwrite other endurance buffs if talented (which you want to do to make sure you get your passives for # of auras run)
Arcane Aegis will do the same as above.

These -10% ability cost buff of the Bard will stack purely on the Archon with the Archons buff based on how many Auras you have running (its not as high as 10%). The party wide buff of the Bard will not stack with the party wide buff of the Chloromancer (they are both 10%).

I was thinking of the Bard's Group Endurance Buff, but I could be mistaken.

Bards Endurance buff will not stack with most Endurance buffs but will stack with the Archon buff. A number of Archon buffs stack where no others do, largely where the buff is a negative to the Archon and a positive to the rest of the party.

It's a pretty dumb system because so many souls get an Endurance buff, some at considerable point investment cost, but they don't stack.

It's worth considering that the Bard Endurance buff is slightly more than everyone elses (eg 26 endurance vrs 20 endurance in low to mid 20s) but it's an Anthem so if you have a mixed party you are best off going with another Anthem and using a different souls Endurance buff.

Many melee souls buffs stack, whereas the vast majority of caster buffs don't. It's one of the major reasons why melee is generally much more powerful compared to Mages at the moment.
