I plan on playing with 4 warocks but I am undecided to the 5th as either a priest or a paladin.... which one would be betteR?

I've got a 4x Warlock 1x Priest team.
Still rather low level.

I like the Priest because:
- Very mobile team (druid was the other mobile healer).
- Same race as the Warlocks.
- Gives the team rez.

I like a 5th Warlock because:
- More damage, more AoE.
- A 5 Demo Warlock team wreaked havoc and was unstoppable, in an AV this season.
- Lots of heals from Drains or Haunt, without needing the Priest per se.
- Good survivability already too.

The team is 22nd or so.
Haven't played them in a while.
But they were quite fun; just started on other teams.

Priest gives you the option to run shadow / 4x lock; which is a very mobile team. You can do both pve/pvp content with them (lock pets are decent tanks up till cap level, where they fall short).

Paladin brings party wide crusader aura + buffs. You have a tank or a healer.

Depends what you are aiming for: pvp i'd say priest, pve i'd say pally.

i personally like having a pally in the mix for the tank option and they make really good healers as well but priest does have good synergy bieng able to go shadow with the warlocks for pvp.

I say priest because paladins are single target healers. Priests have many multiple target heals. Plus a priest would make it an all caster & ranged group. No melee/iwt issues to worry about.

This. I play a holy priest + 4 warlock team for pve (currently 80/79). Hellfire + groupheal is what I use most in instances to just burn down anything if multiple npcs approach the team. Its real fun and I'm surprised that this team is able to do most instances/bosses without problems with just voidwalkers tanking. For the harder encounters 4x soulstone really helps ;)

Priest. With that many blueberrys running around, plus the shadow damage... youd hardly ever need a tank anyway. Priest.

I looked at multiple locks & priest a while back but decided on
3x Lock , 1x Priest & 1x Mage.

All the priest comments above and free water and portals from the mage

This. Mages make life so much better.

All my toons are level 40 right now (1 Paladin with 4 Shamans and 1 Shaman with 4 Hunters).

I will get them to 60 and then do my next crew. I have never played a Mage... Are ports really that important? Why do they make life so much easier and at what level? Also, above someone mentioned "free water", what is that for? Srry, Im a noob and I admit it :)

Mages and Warlocks are similar classes.
They offer a lot of utility in general.
Either and both are very welcome, in almost any caster or mixed group.

Mages:
- Portals for faster/easier travel.
- Frost... replenishment for casters.
- Summoned Food (+Health) & Water (+Mana).
- Sheep vs humanoids/beasts.
- Heroism/Bloodlust equivalent: Temporal Acceleration?
- Easy to macro, strong caster DPS.

Warlocks:
- Summoning toons, to anywhere.
- Destro... replenishment for casters.
- Healthstone/Soulstones.
- Seduce vs humanoids, Banish vs demons/elementals, Fear.
- Variable pet buffs.
- Water Breathing, Curse of the Elements (spell power).
- Ranged AoE stun (Destro).
- Easy to macro, strong caster DPS.

How are 4 warlocks + healer if you want to do dungeons (not heroics) and use pets for tanking?
I just love my 4hunters+healer group, will warlock pets be able to tank just as good as hunter pets?
And which pets should I use, 4 felguards?

I've only just got my 5xmages to level 85, 2 geared up for LFR and the other 3 in progress..

and you have me wanting to roll warlocks :) tempting since I have never played them as mains, and I have caster/cloth heirlooms.
