Our first 25 Man raid kill on Argaloth from Baradin Hold.
It took us several attempts to work out the kinks.

I have but one question .. where's Piá?

In all seriousness, thanks for to all those who organized and paid for the run. I will do my best to put some matts back in the GB so you don't go broke.

Gratz all.

PS who's the uber gnome priest?

For those interested:

1x10 box - Mercurio
2x5 box - Pinot and Kicksome
5x1 box - Fishbeak, Furylika, Holyslinger, Pocalypse, and myself

Piá's autoshot spec just couldn't get us past the enrage timer, other wise Fishbeak would be up there as a dual boxer :)

We got him down with one second to spare. Well done!

I was trying to think back over all the forum posts I've read and all my experiences so far in game.

I believe this is the first time a raid made up of primarily boxers has been completed on 25-man current top tier raiding. I know a number of us have done 25-man raids once we handily outgeared them, but I was very happy to have been involved in downing a raid boss in which only maybe 10% of our gear was the same level as what the boss drops. He's an ilvl 359/365 boss and I'd guess our average ilvl was 343 or so.

Come to think of it, if my memory is correct and this is the first time that this has ever been done... it sure is odd that it happened in Cataclysm, when the heroics and raids have caused such boxer angst because they are nigh undoable due to all the added mechanics. Admittedly, BH is the most straightforward of the Cata raid bosses, but still.

Anyway, with such a large delta between our gear ilvl and the drop ilvl, you can be certain all the gear was snapped up! We should be farming this guy every week for months to come.

Thanks to all who worked hard to gear up and participate! We all had to be picture perfect, crank out every bit of healing our mana would allow, use almost every class cooldown we had, and squeeze DPS out of every pore to get him down 4 mins and 59 seconds after we engaged him (1 second before he enraged).

Big grats, guys, this was extremely satisfying to get done!

LOL, I just watched the vid for the first time. Man, I get totally stressed out just watching that thing!

It almost makes it look easy to show only the... what was it? The 20th attempt? It was also the first time we didn't lose any toons.

Fun stuff.

Well, we downed him again last night. That's twice in one week! It will be awesome to get 50 toons in the guild through Barradin Hold every week!

And the six drops for five groups, combined with having so many classes represented means there is a really good chance the drops will be used instead of DEed! :D

Hmm.... I wonder if we could get a third raid going every week....

If you, void, and mosg2 would stop playing rift we could do it with all dks (and a few pallies for heals) :)

Grats on the kill, nice that you made it work. But your statement is totally off. BH is not current top tier raid content. Not tanking wise, not healing wise not dps wise. Not a single guild in the world would list BH kill when they advertise their progress, nor guildox nor wowprogress take the kill into account. That doesn't change the fact that multiboxing it with that gear is a nice feat, but any serious player does not consider it as a raid.

Interesting. I always thought top tier raiding bosses were defined by a 10-man or 25-man bosses who dropped the highest ilvl items currently available.

OK, after I wrote that statement, you made me want to ensure that my terminology was correct, so I searched The Grand Internet for answers.

Tons of links popped up that use my post's terminology in exactly the way I did. Here are just a few links if you are interested:

Just the title of this one is enough (though alluding to anything with "BobTurkey" in the title for credability may be dangerous ;)):

http://bobturkey.wordpress.com/2010/10/03/reduce-the-item-level-between-raiding-tiers/

WoW Insider uses the same terminology as well:

http://wow.joystiq.com/2011/03/11/shifting-perspectives-balance-druid-talents-and-the-illusion-of/#continued

And there are tons more.

Anyway, terminology aside, I completely agree that BH isn't the hardest 25-man raid boss in Cata's first raid tier (he's definitely the easiest) and I appreciate your compliments on our success in getting him down.
