Hi all,

I'm using IS Boxer, and I've set up and played around with the two-step macro for Elemental Shammies as per the stickies, and I have a few questions...

Macro's I'm talking about:

Elemental Shaman

Ele Sequence Macro
/tar party1
/tar raid1
/stopmacro [channeling]
/castsequence [@targettarget] reset=combat/8 Flame Shock,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Chain Lightning,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Lightning Bolt,Earth Shock,Lightning Bolt,Chain Lightning,Lightning Bolt
/use 13
/cast Elemental Mastery

Ele Proc Macro
/tar party1
/tar raid1
/stopmacro [channeling]
/castsequence [@targettarget] reset=combat/8 Call of the Elements,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Searing Totem,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst,Lava Burst
/use 14
/cast Thunderstorm

It seems that mashing the two-step macro key pretty much results in either the Sequence Macro or the Proc Macro being randomly called depending where you are in the two-step process when you come off the GCD...
I.e. I could potentially end up with this happening:
Flame Shock - Lightning Bolt - Lightning Bolt - Lightning Bolt - Chain Lightning - Totems - Lightning Bolt - Lightning Bolt - Lava Burst - Lightning Bolt - etc

In other words, not the optimal rotation you'd want for an elemental sham.

Is this the expected result, or is there something i'm doing wrong? Am I not supposed to be mashing the macro button then, but instead hitting it only coming off a GCD?

Cheers,
S.

It is the expected result.

Both macros are castsequences, so neither can advance unless the spell in sequence fires off.
However, because of the spam nature, it is possible to get several clicks in a row from one macro or the other.

Of course, Lava Burst won't fire off while it is on cooldown, so won't trigger a GCD or advance... which means having several "2" clicks in a row is not detrimental.

As long as the "proc" macro goes off once every cooldown (approximately 8 seconds), it is serving its purpose.
Not as perfect as the click castsequences (which could be duplicated with Steps, if you wanted), but mindless and fairly close to optimal dps.
