So I've bit the bullet and gotten five accounts squared up, and am going to start playin on Magtheridon. I did a little bit on another realm and thoroughly enjoyed it. This post is a thank-you to all you regulars who've given me idea after idea on how I can get this accomplished on a starving college student's budget. Keyclone was worth every cent that I paid for it, thanks so much for making that available. Many thanks to the zins, your walkthroughs helped figure out my setup. And so now I go to begin!

Before I started the roll on Magtheridon, I tried out the classic 5 shammy team on Stormreaver Horde side. Got to level 12, and decided it was worth continuing and am now about to begin Magtheridon. Thoughts on other players so far: Stormreaver has absolutely no clue as to how it's done. I was able to impress XR and get a gaggle of folks to follow me as I quested throughout XR. And while they had no idea what was going on, they were very excited about it and wanted to know more about it. I only encountered one guy who didn't like the idea, but overall the WoW community seems very much OK with this whole multiboxing thing.

Magtheridon, while admittedly I only made it to level 3 before the bed called (starting at 3 AM ftl), seemed pretty "eh I've seen it before". Didn't have any lowbies dropping their jaws (perhaps literally, it is the Undead starting area after all), so I'm excited to maybe be able to level without debating making macros to say what it is I'm doing to random chars.

And now naptime, then back to levelling. Getting up from that 3 AM Magtheridon excursion at 5 AM to go to work hurt more than expected.

Oh and screenshots...I didn't want to throw images all over the place on the forum, but neither did I want to give random links out as a new and not yet trustworthy fellow. What's the best way to get those out to the masses?

So what kind of computer did you put together on a "starving college student's budget"?

WEeelll this hobo in my back alley had these 5 boxes....

But seriously, my parents bought me a Dell 3 ghz dual core, 256 meg ATI radeon x600, 1 gig RAM (which I quickly bumped up to 2) for a graduation present a couple years ago. That runs three instances of WoW with the high quality images that I like without any issues. (Note: Pre BC anyway, Shat will probably hurt me mightily unless I turn down some video settings)

My scholarship extra money bought me a 2.2 ghz 2 gigs RAM, 128 mb nvidia laptop for 550. And that runs two copies of WoW without too many troubles. Heaven help me if I ever multibox a more advanced game.

Display wise: Got a LG 22 inch flatscreen for my desktop, open box used special. Cost a little over 100 bucks. Laptop uses the...laptop display.

Only complaints are the weird resolution settings I'm using cause for some interestingly styled UIs.

Sometimes I pay the hobo to farm for me, he does a good job considering he only has one hand.
