A few of us have been raiding for a while now, doing 10-man Argaloth (BH) four times a week and playing solo toons in TotFW, BwD, and BoT in PuGs. However, I think it is time to see if we can get more of you involved in raiding. Raiding is such a big part of the game and my feeling is that you are missing out if you don't see at least some of the content, as well as get the chance to end up with a few pieces of great gear.
If you have an interest in getting involved, we're going to ask that you do a bit of work to prepare. The first thing we need to do is see what we have to work with. So if you are interesteed in raiding, please some info on each of your toons:
toon name
class
spec(s)
current ilvl (shown in the character window under General on the top right)
number of PvP items you have equipped
if you are a non-healer, what your miss chance is vs a level 88 boss mob (you can find this by highlighting Hit Chance in your character tab under the appropriate section for your character - spell for casters, melee for melee DPS or tanks, and ranged for hunters)
Also post what raid times work best for you. There is no guarantee that we'll be able to fit in with your schedule, but we'll do our best. Frankly, Pinot, Kicksome, and I have many accounts and have worked hard to get multiple toons geared up to take on PvE content, so our schedules will probably drive things, at least initially.
As far as drops go, my initial thought is that every toon whose main spec the gear is targeted for will get a roll and the highest roll will win. We may modify this as time goes on, but that's the initial plan.
Our first raid will be this Saturday at 8 AM PST. We may also try some content on Sunday after 10 AM PST.
If you want to be involved, please post your toon info and general raiding time preferences.
Other things you should do:
- If you have any class that can heal, speccing/gearing them should be your primary focus if you want the guild to proceed. Lack of geared healers will be what stops us from progressing.
- If you have a healer, ensure they are set up to heal and dispel both 10 and 25 man raids with Vuhdo/Grid/etc.
- ***Buy some appropriate flasks for your spec** Actually, scrap this. I spent 72K gold and now we have the Mix Master guild achievement any alchemist can provide guild caulldrons (flasks) for everyone. So don't spend your gold on flasks! Heavens knows I've blown enough on them!
- Make sure your toons can follow anyone in the raid
- Make sure your toons can assist anyone in the raid
- Make sure you have Deadly Boss Mods downloaded and installed
As boxers, we will have a bigger challenge than most raiding guilds, so I expect a lot of wipes until we figure things out.
I'll list out my toons in the subsequent post so you can see exactly what we are asking for.
Raiding can be very fun and satisfying. Let's see what we can do!
