I have four blood DKs, I have been running with a pug healer through all the WOTLK instances.

Even instances which are 'orange', I have been able to chain pull with no down time even on bosses. It has been fast and efficient.

I figured since blood not being the 'dps' talent tree, I would try putting three in frost. It was dis-orienting, and strangely enough my recount was telling me my blood 'primary dk' was out dpsing my frost. I checked everyone's recount to confirm this. So all in al I wasn't impressed.

They are level 76 currently, do things change dramatically at level 80 with mastery? or have I got something significantly wrong?

Blood AOE/ST
Rune Strike, Blood Tap, Heart Strike, and heavily weighted for Death Strike

Frost
AOE - Frost Strike, Plague Strike, Blood Strike and heavily weighted Howling Blast
ST - Frost Strike, Plague Strike, Blood Strike and heavily weighted Obliterate

I'm not entirely sure whether having frost dps is quicker, everything felt so much more controlled with four blood dk and it felt more efficient.

IMO stick with 4 blood for PvE stuff. It is more controlled, you have excellent self healing and good aoe dps. What frost brings later on is better AoE dps and single target with round robin AoE crowd control. There are select encounters where this is more useful but all in all, I find 4 blood much easier.

Cheers, I think i'll stick with blood for PVE then.

How would you have them equipped? and setup?

I've changed the 'dps' blood dks to use death coil instead of rune strike to reduce the threat they create. I'm starting to kit out the primary dk in dodge/parry equip and leaving the other dks in dps equip.

The alternative is to have them all in dodge/parry gear, generating threat so that the damage doesn't all come down on one dk. So the healing they generate gets used more effectively?

What do you think of this?

I recently leveled my DK's to 85. What i did was 55-68 as blood. I had my alts have the same talents spec as my main character. I only changed blood presence to frost presence on my alts, and had blood presence on my main.

On level 68 you get Howling Blast on the frost tree, and bought dual-spec and went frost. On questing i found Frost easier because it had more DPS. Once you go quest with frost x 4 make sure you change to unholy presence once you have it. It rocks! I still did dungeons as 4x blood, as it was easier tanking and pretty good dps.

Cheers, I'm wondering

Are you doing dungeons @ 85 with them now? Heroics?

Are they kitted out in tanking gear or dps?

Naw, im just doing BGs and arena's atm. I don't like doing dungeons/heroics in cataclysm. They are too hard and not multiboxer-friendly.
