Well for those of us who were home at 10am PST and logged in right when the servers went up things have not gone smoothly.

Most of us are still in long queues and in my case every 15 minutes or so I get disconnected from the server and have to restart in line. So what was orginally a two hour wait now says somewhere around seven to eight hours.

If you are sitting right at your computer and quickly get it ot reconnect to the server list then you can retain your position in line. If not you go back to the end of the line.

I hadn't planned on spending my second to last day off this week staying in front of my computer not doing anything but watching the queue so I don't keep getting knocked out of line.

Bleh.

One of the reasons I didn't stay home as I expected this.

You really cannot have 1000s of people running around in the starter zones. :)

If there weren't staggering entry via queues, the servers would be crahsing, laggy, etc...

Even if the above issues did not happen, I don't think I would want to be running around with 100s if not thousands of others in the starting area.

Yeah it's about the same as most launches. The EQ launch was horrendous, and unplayable for days if not weeks, but then it was really the first real big time MMO.

I just wanted to get on and claim some toon names before they got taken, but then I'm not really sold on keeping my toon names either.

Def not how i expected to spend the first day. Really frustrating that you have to sit at the comp the whole time to keep your spot

On the one hand, it sucks that it always tends to be this way on day 1...

On the other hand it makes me wonder if you guys are new to MMOs or didnt expect this?

Can't say I'm surprised. I don't think Trion has done an MMO before, have they?

Glad I didn't rush. I'll give it the first week into March, then I'll pick it up and see how it's going.

I expected some bumps.. i did not expect the multi hour queuess... when they did the stress test on beta, they had a few thousand more people then what servers will be set for on live, and there were no queues. But its a sign that that many people want to play.. way more then Trion expected. Once you get on.. it runs smooth as butter! The will add more servers next few days I'm sure. I started 5 guys on Wolfsbane, after the server restart my que said 9 hours.. so i started toons on Alsbeth. But if things get to normal this weekend.. i don't mind starting over again i guess.

I'm done for the night, only had a few hours left to play once i got on again. Most of that was set up time.

I'm surprised that any of you are... surprised! Lol, they had over one million pre-orders. 20 servers to launch, roughly.

I logged into the server select screen about an hour before they were supposed to come up. I was able to secure all the character names I wanted but then had to leave for work. Now I'm home at midnight EST and the que is at 400. Lol.

very very seriously considering rolling on Alsbeth and staying there, instant ques vs 5 hour waits for Wolfsbane? No thanks

I got on after about 1.5 hours, and then was on instantly after the servers came up around 12:50pm PST. 2 of my clients froze, so I shut them down via Right-Clicking Taskbar - Close, then logged back in immediately and didn't have to wait in line.

I got lucky, but I'm sorry things aren't going as well for others during this headstart.

First impressions do matter, but as a Launch, it's pretty typical.

Trion has been smart in waiting to add more servers. They had 20 at launch, but added at least 8 more during the day. Good on them for not making the same mistake as WAR, launching with all servers and then merging them later on, as they didn't let them fill out properly, causing faction imbalances.

First impression is great, just not on the server I was talking about before LOL

Alsbeth kept me entertained all afternoon and evening :)

Thats where a lot of us ended up! Wolfsabne is a cool sounding server name, so I'm sure iit is why its one of the highest queue time servers.

What was really cool what , that even there where 1000 people in the started zones, there was no LAG !!

Thats is what sold me on this game, lots of people in a zone and not enough lag to proove it!

Last night, 3 hour queue, but once I was in, 0 issues and no lag. It looks like experience wasn't nerfed from beta either as I was able to get to around 14 in a few hours.

For giggles, I tried logging on before work - had to apply a patch, and boom, I was in - no queue, so it's looking very promising.

Void, how can I contact you? Besides Skype? I vote we move to .....

Kaleida (it was the first PvP with LOW)

I'm going to play there now. I got in instantly. I'll see about moving back to Lotham if people are real intent on staying there, but I'm not wasting half my play time tonight in queue.
