So I know somebody posted this already in one of these threads, throwing it out there again:
http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html
So im wondering what everybodys point distribution strategy will be. Assuming the soul calculator is correct you get 66 points at max level. It looks like you can:
1) Go all the way to 51 points and get the last root ability for 1 soul. This leaves 15 points to distribute to your other two souls.
2) Put 31 points into 2 souls. This will get you to the top of the tree but will leave the bottom of the root section unfilled. This leaves 4 points over.
Obviously if youre not interested in getting to the top of the tree you have more points to put into the 3rd soul.
Just wondering how you guys were planning on doing it.

Well the big thing regarding is the 36 point talent which gives you passive bonus per point spent in the tree up to 51. I would say some calculations will need to be done if it out weighs the bonuses from lower tier abilities from other trees.
I do know from tests that i have done that it is better to spread points out over the three trees at least up to level 15 for the 1st tier bonuses. I based this information from dps/healing reports from warfronts.
Havent been bothered to install the 3rd party parser yet.

I am having a hard time with this as well. For bards, if you were a raiding bard, you would want full bard, the last talents and skills you get from going full bard would be very important for a raid. But for rift slaying or light PvP, i think the last few points might be better spent someplace else, like for survivability etc.. There are so many options it gets a bit overwhelming. I'm sure there will be good sources later on for min/max builds. A Rift version of elitists jerks I bet.

As i was going over bard builds, i think i desided a full bard build is too nice. Some nice cooldowns for when shit hits the fan. My live bard build will be somthing like http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MNci..EIdqiqskqz.Vhh0h
ranger for pet ( the pet becomes weak after level 30ish.. it stops leveling ) so ill switch that to sab for the baseline ae root.
14 in nightbalde..all the points i spent there help cadence and our finishers. So stronger cadence and codas.

Im not sure what you mean about 36 point passive talent Wadis.
I dont even see a 36 point break point on the calculator, just 32 and 38. Neither of them are passives.
Only thing i see passive per point spent is on some guys (like paladin for example),
5 point root talent Gift of the Paladin which gives .46% health boost per point spent.
I need to look at the cleric options right now. I have two guys im jacking around with, one is a warlord / paladin / forget the 3rd thing but couldnt find a 3rd warrior dude that went well with the sword and board style of the first two, needs some more research.
His buddy is a justicar / shaman / druid. I think this guy will be pretty cool. He also heals himself upon attacking (similar to judgement of light pallies in WoW). They have another ability that heals your party members each time you use an ability. I am not sure if you can have both the self healing one and the party heal one going, but the game seems to be pretty good so far on having tooltips reference when things dont stack, and it doesnt mention it.
So thinking 2 of these guys could be somewhat potent.
Will keep messing with it til thursday then its decision time =P

Oh I just looked at some more soul types and see some of them have the 36 point passive.
Will check it out, thanks.

I just did a glance over the ranger stuff and i dont like it very much.. i tend to go more Bard/MM ranger mostly for the pet.. this is what i came up with with a quick glance of the Rogue souls http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MNcf..xIzVVqkzqz.VhtokdV0zM(i also want that Rapid extriction in MM tree so i would probably change something from bard to get it aswell) (http://rift.zam.com/en/stc.html?t=0MNcf..xIzVVqkzqz.VhtokdV0zM) i cant decide if its worh going so hard in to bard and not taking Verse of Vitality..
Reason i went so deep in MM is the crossfire and Repelling shot(if you roudrobin it will be a pain for any melee to reach you) and Collateral damage for For Fan out spam :P dunno how good this build would be but to me Ranger/Bard/MM looks like a powerhouse and removes the need to stay within 20 range(Healing outside 20 can be done with Coda of resto and Motif and such..) will see how it works out :)
I never liked the Ranger tree more then for the beast.. some nice stuff i there i guess but i think MM will suit any boxer better for the range and the speed increase and whatnot :)
